Thomas de Bellocampo, earl of Warwick. Whereas the pope signed two petitions in favour of his son William, but in the vice-chancery it is pretended that they are useless, because the pope, in the sixth year of his pontificate, dispensed William so as to hold a sinecure, the pope is prayed on behalf of the said William, student at Oxford, in his eighteenth year, to declare that he may hold a parish church and a cathedral dignity, and exchange, resign, and accept these and other benefices. Robert, earl of Suffolk. Whereas the pope lately dispensed his son, John de Ufforde, a minor, so as to hold a benefice with cure of souls when he was eighteen, but he, when seventeen, was presented by the lay patron to the church of Hintgham, in the diocese of Norwich, and instituted by the bishop, the earl prays for confirmation of the same, and for the necessary provision and dispensation, notwithstanding that John has a canonry and prebend of Lincoln, and also of Salisbury, about which last a suit is pending in the papal court.

Whereas he had a provision made to him by bishop John, of the office of primarius of the said church, and held it for seven years, seven months, and ten days, together with the church of Bridestowe, believed to be annexed to it, and afterwards heard from the bishop that the church was not so annexed, he resigned it, and the bishop gave it as void by the death of Master William Boara, its value being 18 marks, to the said Henry; but as he fears that he may be molested touching irregularity incurred, he prays for rehabilitation, and for provision of the said canonry, prebend, and church.
