Entry K, surgeon and apprentice to BEAUTER (qv, 83?), had given Mr Harper, a printer, and his wife a diet drink of Searsa 4 oz, Hemedack 4 oz, Saseperall 6 oz, for the pox. He claimed to have read Joannes Vigo and to have used this cure for 11 years. Mrs H, after apparent cure, got worse; K gave vomits of stibium lozenges sold by Mr SMITH of Newgate Market (683, qv), had let blood and given pulvis sanctus. Had charged £8, of which he had already had £3 11s.
