Entry 'In this Comitia the letter was read from that famous man, Francis Walsingham, on behalf of a certain ignorant foreign woman called Margaret Kennix living in Seacole Lane. After this was read, there was much discussion as to the course of action to be pursued: it was decided that some one should be chosen to send the reply from the College explaining more fully and respectfully our case. Therefore Dr. Marbeck was charged to write the reply by the following Friday.'

Entry 'The reply to the honourable man Sir Francis Walsingham which the President and Fellows had asked Doctor Marbeck to write by the next Comitia was read publicly: and with the change of one word only it was approved unanimously. It was arranged that it should be sent by Doctor Giffard the President, Dr. Smith Cantab., Baronsdale, Marbeck and Hector [Nones].'
