Entry D, a surgeon, was accused by Mr. Flud, an attorney, of making an agreement to cure F's wife for £20. D had had the money but had not cured her: after a month or two she relapsed into madness, and was still mad. As D acknowledged his fault and it was his first offence, he received merciful treatment: a fine of 40s. and a warning not to intrude into medical affairs in the future.
