Entry 'On 28 December John Chandler, grocer of Red Cross Street, was accused by that noble man George Gascoyne that he had given to his young son small pills covered with sugar which had harmed him: he replied that he did not know they had been sold by his wife. It was therefore decided that the President should summon the Master and Wardens of the Grocers and that the Queen should prohibit the sale of pills of this kind because of their harmful effect. This was done on the following day.'
