Entry 'John Actour appeared on a charge of practising: he confessed that he had practised medicine but thought that he could do so as he was a surgeon: he had prescribed for the daughter of Mr. Lloyd a mixture of Hamech up to vj Z : he had given Diatragacanthum frigidum to the son of Paul Kobacchus for whom he had prescribed a purgative medicine. Mr. Spence, serving with the armed forces, came to intercede on his behalf and claimed that he had cured many people. But having been fined five marks, he was again cast into Prison.'

Entry 'appeared, summoned there as appears in the Book of Examination ... John Actor, convicted of illicit and unskilful practice: he was imprisoned and fined five marks, of which five shillings was for the accusor, five for the parish, 3s. 4d. for the Bedell, 3s. 4d. for the Constables and 50s. for the College.'

Entry 'John Actor of Windsor appeared, shewes his letters of licence dated 8 September 1634. He was brought by a warrant vnder the hand of Secretary Windebanck directed to John Penyall.' He showed, by mistake, a copy of a petition to the Archbishop of Canterbury against the College. 'Mr. Price laboured of a tertian ague: this Actor gave him a medicine compounded of Confect. Alkermes, syrupe of papaveris erratici e succo citrij et laudano Paracelsi. This Price died within 5 or 6 howres after.'
