ST. MAGNUS BY LONDON BRIDGE.
The tithes paid at the present are summed up at the beginning.
The moderate value of all the houses in the parish with other things tithable, amounts to the sum of £2,092.
Which sum after the rate of 219 in the pound will produce in yearly tithes the sum of £287 12s. 0d.
This Parsonage is rated higher in his Majesty's Bookes than any living in or about London. For it is valued at £69 besides 40s. in pensions It hath no glebe belonging to it. The best third part of the Parish was consumed by the late fire on London Bridge, yet no part of the annual charges lying on the Parsonage is abated. And it is yet capable of a large improvement by reason that a good part of it being City Land, provisions have been accordingly made to keep down the Tithes generally throughout the parish to unreasonable Low proportions, some very few houses excepted.
