He was a sheriff 1320-1, alderman of Cordw 1321, of Cheap 1321-39, of Tower 1346-7, Mayor 1334-5. He evidently moved to St. Mary Fenchurch, where he got a house in 1316, after 1319. - Cf. BreadSt 10.

He was to be buried in the church of St. Thomas Acon, near which he will have lived. A coffrer and girdler.

He is hardly identical with W. atte Ramme, brewer 1305 Mayors 203 or W. atte Ramme 1319 LBE 109 (surveyor of meat at the Shambles), W. Purde, called Ate Ramme 1321-2 Will (a tenant in BroadSt). - Surname probably from a house called The Ram. The final entry Forum Extra ((ffor' Extra) is difficult to explain, unless it simply refers to the taxpayers on the verso side of the membrane. A division of the ward into Cheap Infra and Cheap Extra has not been noticed anywhere.
