  • 58. Doubtless connected with John de Can(n)efeld 1297-8 LBC 52 (bailiff of weavers), 1310-11 LBD 251 (weaver), or Roger de Kanefeud 1297-8 Will (of St. Nicholas Acon, wife Alana). Perhaps the widow of John. - Canfield Ess.
  • 59. Hugh, son of Michael Pikard 1311 LBB 32, H. Pikard 1312 ib. 42, H. Pycard 1346-7 Will (of St. Mary Abchurch), H. Picard 1332 S (16d.). He was a son of Michael le Pykard (1288-9 LBA 112), referred to as M. (le) Tapiser, called Pikarde 1310 LBD 51 (adm., one of his sureties being no. 68). Michael was no doubt a Picard resident in London, who was not admitted till 1310. Hugh was doubtless a tapicer.

  • 64. Cristiana, widow of John Deumars (1279 Will), C. Deumars 1291 LBA 177, 1323-4 Will (a tenant in St. Mary Woolnoth). Robert, son of John Deumars, was a cutler, as seen from his will of 1291-2. - Cf. 1292 S [Dowg 15].
  • 65. Probably connected with John de Bokenham 1332 S [Langb]. - Buckenham Nf.
  • 66. Nicholas de Welleford 1294-5 LBA 199 (chamberlain of Sir Roger de l'Isle), 1302-3 LBB 123, N. de Welleford, called de la Garderobe 1307 LBB 195, N. de la Gardrobe 1326 Cor (juror Bish). He had the lease of a house with Richard de Toterich, hosier [1292 S, Cordw 44] in 1294-5 and was connected with Richard de Weleford, hosier [1292 S, Cordw 45]; he was no doubt a hosier. Sir Roger de l'Isle (de Insula), dead in 1296 (Fine), was keeper of the Royal Wardrobe. This explains the surname de la Garderobe.
  • 67. Robert le Fullere 1302 LBC 113 (elector for the Tron for weighing wool with Walter and William le Fullere, thus a woolmonger). William le Fullere junior (of St. Mary Fenchurch) in his will of 1316 left certain houses to Stephen le Fullere and Robert, his apprentice, the latter probably the taxpayer of 1319.
  • 68. Walter de Stebenhethe 1310 LBD 51, 1310-11 ib. 66 (chaloner), 1338 Cl (tapicer), W. de Stepenhuth 1323 Cor 75 (St. Dionis), W. de Stebenhuthe 1330-1 Mem 179 (repr. of tapicers), W. de Stepenheth 1332 S (8d.). He had a tenement in St. Mary Fenchurch in 1315-16 (Ipm). Possibly identical with Walter, son of Robert de Stebbenhuth (1327 Will). An earlier chaloner of Langb with this surname was probably Hugh de Steben(h)ethe (1276 LBB 264, etc.). - Stepney Mx.
  • 69. Dyonisius le Feyner, appr. of Dyonisius le Feyner junior of Grascherche, adm. 1309 LBD 101, D. le Avener 1323 Cor 75 (surety Langb), D. Lavener 1326 ib. 160 (juror Langb). A hay- and oatmonger. - Cf. 1292 S [Dowg 41].
  • 70. Adam in the Lane 1310 LBD 235 (surety of no. 68), 1321 LBE 159, A. In-the-Lane 1327 Will (a tenant in St. Mary Fenchurch). He frequently appears with chaloners (tapicers) and was evidently one himself.
  • 71. Godwyn le Cord(e)waner 1298 Mayors 4 (surveyor of shoes), 1317 Cl (in the King's service), 1321 Will.
  • 72. Hugh ate Coke 1320 LBE 131 (resident at Fancherche), H. ate Cok 1322 ib. 169 (owner of houses in St. Mary Fenchurch). He appears with chaloners (tapicers) and was probably one himself. Surname perhaps from a house called The Cock.
  • 73. Perhaps widow of Walter de Kancia or le Chalm' (for Chaluner) 1275 RH 418, 424 (juror Langb), W. de Kent 1297 LBB 238 (repr. Langb).
  • 74. William de Basyng by his will of 1318 left all his houses to Richolda his wife. He was a woolmonger and a sheriff 1308-9 (Ant Leg 245). He had a house in Mincing Lane (1302 Mayors 139). - Basing Ha.
  • 75. The surname may be Scot or less probably Stot. The latter is ME stot 'a horse', 'a steer'.
