173 DUCK V FIELDER
Arthur Duck, LL.D, King's Advocate v John Fielder of Borough Court, co. Hampshire, esq
October 1638
Abstract
Proceedings survive from October 1638, but they do not show either the cause or result of Duck's complaint against Fielder.
Summary of proceedings
Dr Duck appears as counsel as well as plaintiff and on 20 October 1638 Fielder's securities were required to appear.
Notes
The defendant was most likely John Feilder of Borough Court, esq (b.c.1614), who married Margaret, daughter of Sir John Trevor of Trevalyn, co. Denbigh, knt. His father, another John Feilder, had died c. September 1638 therefore it is possible this cause of office was over funeral fees.

John Fielder of Borough Court, Hampshire, esq, was a 'recruiter' M.P. for St Ives, and active in preventing law reforms in the Rump Parliament. He was appointed to the Council of State in February 1651.
