Persons lending money for use of Army and Navy to be repaid with interest out of Grand Excise

Whereas the sum of Three hundred fifty thousand pounds was by an Act of Parliament of the Twenty seventh of June, One thousand six hundred forty nine, Declared and Ordained to stand charged upon the Receipts of the Excize in course, of the Four hundred thousand pounds secured upon the said Receipts by Ordinance of the Thirteenth of October, One thousand six hundred forty six; One hundred and fifty thousand pounds whereof was by like Act of Parliament of the Twenty-ninth of June aforesaid, disposed of for the service of Ireland, no mention being therein made of the other Two hundred thousand pounds, residue of the said Three hundred and fifty thousand pounds. And whereas since by Order of Parliament of the Eighteenth of April last past, The said Two hundred thousand pounds is disposed of as followeth; viz. Fifty thousand pounds for the setting forth the Train of Artillery, and other Emergencies of the Commonwealth; the other One hundred and fifty thousand pounds for the use of the Navy and Armies in England and Ireland, in such order and maner as the Councel of State shall direct, as the urgencies of either of them shall require; the course of payment of which Two hundred thousand pounds is not yet come, though now near at hand: Be it Ordained and Enacted by this present Parliament, and by authority thereof, That all and every person and persons who shall advance or lend any sum or sums of money for and towards the uses aforesaid, the said person or persons shall be secured, and reimbursed the same out of the Receipts which shall come in upon the Grand Excize, when the course of the same shall fall, together with Interest for the same after the Rate of Eight pounds per centum per annum, at the end of every six moneths from the time of the advancing thereof, in such maner and form, as by the said Act of the Nine and twentieth of June last was Provided and Ordained for the Lenders of the other One hundred and fifty thousand pounds intended to be advanced for the service of Ireland; and the Moneys so advanced and lent upon the Credit of this present. Act, shall be, and are hereby Ordered to be paid to the hands of such Treasurer, and in such maner as by the said Act of the Nine and Twentiet, of June last was Ordained and appointed.
