Ormesby (near Allerby).

200. (C. p. 150; D. art. 78).—Henry de Derham, by desire of his wife Matildis, grants to Holm abbey half an acre in Ormesby, i.e. that half acre which stretches towards the north to the monks' land, with common pasture, etc., free of forinsec service. [Henry f. John Rich (Dives) de Dearham was brother of Richard, dated by St. Bees, no. 396, to c. 1260.]

201. (C. p. 150; D. art. 78).—Cristiana de Derham, widow of Michael de Clifton, grants to Holm abbey the land given her in free marriage, i.e. the remainder of two bovates with appurtenances in Ormesby, of which her father and mother gave four acres to Holm. [Michael witnessed St. Bees, nos. 338, 343, of 1227.]

201a . (H. 2).—C[ristiana] de Derham, widow of Michael de Clifton, grants to Holm abbey a toft and croft in Ormisby between the lands of Eva, wife of Robert de Ormisbi and of Matillidis de Raghton, with the remainder of two bovates in the same vill, of which her father and mother gave four acres to Holm. [c. 1230– 40].

201b . (H. 2).—Adam f. William de Derham grants to Holm abbey all the land in Ormisby which he had from his father, mother and sister Christiana, widow of Michael de Clifton. [An Adam de Derham witnessed St. Bees, no. 392, of the first quarter 13th century; and William de Derham witnessed St. Bees, no. 490, of 1200–10.]
