Message from the H. C. with Orders for Concurrence.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Wm. Lewis Knight;

To desire Concurrence in Two several Orders:

1. Concerning Colonel Bettsworth to command Southsea Castle. (Here enter it.)

Agreed to.

2. An Order for giving Twenty Pounds to the Messenger that brought a Letter from Colonel Poyntz.

(Here enter it.)

Agreed to.

Major Cromwell freed from an Arrest.

Upon reading the Petition of Major Cromwell; complaining, "That he, being actually in Service of the State, and many Arrears due unto him, is arrested, and now in Restraint:"

It is Ordered, That he be released from his present Restraint, and his Arrears to be paid him; forwhich, his Petition shall be recommended to the House of Commons.

Morris, alias Pointz, for forging an Act of Parliament.

Ordered, That the Cause between John Morris, alias Pointz, Plaintiff, and Sir Adam Littleton, John Browne, Esquire, &c. shall be heard peremptorily on Tuesday Morning next; and that the Petitioner (fn. 1) shall have the Counsel assigned him as he mentions in his Petition.

Message from the H. C. for Money to be set apart for Ireland;

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Wm. Lewis Knight;

To desire their Lordships Concurrence in divers Particulars:

1. That Forty Thousand Pounds, Part of the Monies in Weavers Hall, be set apart for the only and sole Use of Ireland, and not disposed (fn. 2) but by Order of both Houses, and issued only for the Service of Ireland.

Agreed to.

for Col. Poyntz to take Care of his Forces;

2. That Colonel Poyntz shall give Orders for the keeping in Quiet such Regiments of Horse and Foot as were formerly under his Command, until both Houses take further Order.

Agreed to.

and for the Northern Forces to have the Benefit of Votes of the Houses.

3. That the Forces of the Northern Association shall have the like Terms and Conditions, upon their disbanding, or going for Ireland, as is voted for the Forces of the Army, and the other Forces of the Kingdom.

Agreed to.

The Answer returned was:

Answer.

That this House agrees to all the Particulars now brought up.

Ordinance to raise Money for the Forces in England and Ireland.

It was moved, "That the House might be adjourned into a Committee, to debate and consider of the Ordinance for raising of Monies for the Service of England and Ireland."

Which being opposed;

The Question being put, "Whether the House shall be adjourned during Pleasure?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

And accordingly the House was adjourned into a Committee of the whole House during Pleasure.

The House being resumed;

The Question was put, "Whether this Ordinance shall be now read the Third Time?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

The Question being put, "Whether to have this Ordinance commence from Midsummer next, for Six Months?"

And the Votes were Eight and Eight.

The Question being put, "Whether, as the Case now stands, this House will proceed to the reading of this Ordinance now, before the House be adjourned?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Then the said Ordinance was read the Third Time.

And the Question being put, "Whether to agree to this Ordinance?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, That this Ordinance be printed and published.

E. of Holland to have Possession of the Lodge and Great Park at Windsor.

Upon Report of the Committee, "That they have perused the Patent of the Earl of Holland, and do find the Earl of Holland hath Right to the Keeping of the Great (fn. 3) Park and Lodge in Windsor:"

It is Ordered, That the Sheriff of the County of Berks do give the said Earl of Holland Possession of the aforesaid Park and Lodge.

Order for 20l. to Newcomen, Messenger from Col. Poyntz.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, That the Sum of Twenty Pounds be paid, by the Committee of Lords and Commons for Advance of Monies at Habberdash'rs Hall, to Robert Newcomen, the Messenger that brought the Letters from Colonel General Points, for his Pains, and to defray the Charge of his Journey."

Commander of S. Sea Castle to receive Orders from Col. Betsworth.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, That the Commander of South-sea Castle be required, and do from Time to Time, receive Orders from Colonel Bettisworth, now Lieutenant Governor of Portsmouth."

Rogers to be instituted to Chaleigh;

Ordered, &c. That Doctor Heath shall give Institution and Induction unto William Rogers Clerk, to the Rectory of Chaleigh, in Com. Sussex, void by the Death of the last Incumbent, salvo Jure cujuscunque; he taking the National League and Covenant, and producing his Presentation under the Hand and Seal of William Wheeler Esquire, lawful Patron.

and Small wood to Kireford.

Ordered, &c. That Doctor Heath give Institution unto William Smallwood Clerk, to the Vicarage of Kireford, in Com. Sussex, void by the Death of the last Incumbent, salvo Jure cujuscunque; he taking the National League and Covenant, and producing his Presentation thereunto under the Great Seal.

Adjourn.
