Dr. Aylett and Dr. Heath return with this Answer from the House of Commons:
That which concerns the Meeting of the Committee concerning the Great Seal, they agree to meet this Af ternoon: To all the rest, they will send an Answer by Messengers of their own.
Steward and Hodges.
Ordered, That Mr. Walter Steward shall have till Monday next, to put in his Answer to Hodges' Petition; else Hodges is to take his Course against him.
E. of Worcester's Funeral Expences, Fees, &c. to be paid.
The House being informed that the Earl of Worcestér is dead, and there is no Means to inter his Body:
It is Ordered, To recommend it to the House of Commons, that some Course may be taken, to procure some Means out of his Estate for his Interment, and for defraying the Charges since his Imprisonment, and the Fees due to the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod.
Ld. Dunsmore, Leave to remain at Abscourt.
Ordered, That the Lord Dunsemore shall have Leave to remain at his House at Abbscourte, in the County of Surry; (fn. 1) his Lordship having promised upon his Honour not to come on this Side the River of Thames during the Time limited in the Ordinance of Parliament of the 12th Instant.
Letter from the Spanish Ambassador, about 50,000 l. due to Spanish Merchants.
A Letter from the Spanish Ambassador was read, "to put their Lordships in Mind to give an Answer to the Business concerning the Fifty Thousand Pounds in The St. Clare."
It is Ordered, That this Letter be delivered to the Committee for Foreign Affairs, that so the Business may be hastened.
E. of Westmorland, a Pass.
Ordered, That the Earl of Westm'land, with his Lady and Servants, shall have a Pass, to go into France, and return into England.
Ordinance to continue the Assessments for Sir T. Fairfax's Army.
The House was adjourned into a Committee during Pleasure, to take into Consideration the Ordinance for continuing the Payment of Sir Tho. Fairefax' Army for Six Months longer.
The House being resumed;
It is Ordered, That the Consideration of the whole Ordinance is referred to these Lords following, who are to make Report thereof to this House:

Ordered, That Wm. Binding shall have a Warder's Place in the Tower of London; and that the House of Commons be desired to concur herein.
Ordinance for Col. Manwaring to be Searcher of Sandwich.
Ordered, upon the Report of the Earl of Northumb. from the Committee of the Revenue, That an Ordinance be drawn up, and presented to this House, for Colonel Manwaringe to have the Place of Searcher of Sandwich.
And the Earl of Northumb. Earl Pembrooke, Earl Sarum, Earl Manchester, Lord Viscount Say, Lord Wharton, and Lord North, do draw up an Ordinance to this Purpose, and present the same to this House.

Ordered, That the Writ of Errors between Cooke and Slipper shall be argued To-morrow Morning.
Message to the H. C. about the E. of Worcester's Funeral, &c. and other Particulars.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Doctor Aylett and Doctor Heath:
1. To inform them of the Earl of Worcester's Death; and desire that some Means may (fn. 2) be allowed, out of the Estate of the Earl of Worcester, to inter his Body, and pay the Charges of his bringing up, and since his Imprisonment, and the Fees due to the Gentleman Usher.
2. To desire their Concurrence, that Binding may be a Warder of The Tower of London.
3. To recommend to them, that some Allowance may be made for the Interment of the Body of the Lord Dowcra, lately deceased.
Paper from the Committee for the Revenue, for Colonel Manwaring to be Searcher of Sandwich.
"At the Committee of Lords and Commons for His Majesty's Revenue, sitting at Westm'r, the 12th of December, 1646.
"Upon Consideration had of the Petition of Colonel Randall Manwareing to the House of Peers, wherein he prays, for the Reasons therein mentioned, that the Place of Searcher of Sandwich with the Members (being now void) may be conferred upon him, and of the Order of the House of Peers referring the same to the Consideration of this Committee, and to report our Opinions what we conceive fit to be done therein on the Behalf of the Petitioner: It is this Day Ordered, and we are of Opinion, That Colonel Randall Manwareing is a very fit Man to have the said Searcher's Place of Sandwich, with the Members, so that he reside at Sandwich, and execute the Place in Person, and take moderate Fees: And we desire the Right Honourable the Earl of Northumberland to report this our Opinion unto the House of Peers accordingly.
