Comes Manchester, Speaker.

Ingle and Ford versus Cornwallis.

Ordered, That the Cause between Foord and Cornwallis, as likewise the Cause between Ingle and Cornwallis, shall be heard on Thursday next.

Stanley to be instituted to Kirkby over Blois.

Ordered, That Doctor Aylett shall give Institution and Induction to John Stanley Clerk, to the Rectory of Kirkby over Blowis, in the County of Yorke.

General Porter and Sackvile sent for.

The Earl of Essex reported, "That this House having referred to him and the Lord Willoughby, to (fn. 1) make up the Difference between Major General Porter and Captain Sackvile; their Lordships appointed a Time to hear then: But Major General Porter did not meet."

Hereupon it is Ordered, That their Lordships have hereby Power to send for them both, to appear at such Time as they shall appoint.

Mr. Smart to have Monies paid him.

Upon reading the Petition of Mr. Smarte; complaining, "That the Persons that should pay him the Monies according to the Orders of this House do refuse to pay him."

It is Ordered, That the Receiver, that should pay him the Monies as are ordered to be paid unto him, shall forthwith pay the same accordingly; and that such other Persons as shall appear upon Affidavit to this House to refuse, shall be sent for by Order of this House, to answer their said Contempt; and that the One Hundred and Twenty Pounds mentioned in the Petition be paid out of the Sequestration.

Ordinance to secure Money advanced for Ireland.

The Ordinance for securing of Persons that shall advance Monies for Ireland, was reported as fit to pass, with some few Alterations and Amendments; which was read the Third Time, with the said Alterations, and Agreed to, and Ordered to be sent to the House of Commons, for their Concurrence in the said Alterations.

Order about Writs of Error.

Ordered, That such Persons as bring in any Writs of Error into this House shall of Course 'sign the Errors (fn. 2) within Eight Days after it be brought into this House; else, in Default thereof, the same be remitted into the King's Bench, that so Execution may be taken off: And further it is Ordered, That the Fees which are to be paid to the Officers of this House shall be paid before the Writs of Error be brought into this House.

Message to the H. C. for the Conference about the Words spoke by Sir J. Evelyn; their Vote about the King's Person; and about Captain Massy;

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Doctor Aylett and Doctor Heath:

1. To let them know, that this House will give them a Free Conference To-morrow Morning, at Ten a Clock, concerning the Words which were spoken at a late Conference by Sir John Evelyn.

2. To let them know, that this House will give a Conference, at the same Time, concerning a Vote which the House of Commons hath made, for the disposing of the King's Person as the Houses of Parliament shall think fit; and likewise concerning the Business of Captain Maissey.

Horses to be exported for Colonels Killegrew and Cromwell;

8. To desire Concurrence in a Pass, for Six Horses to be transported into Holland, for Colonel Cromwell and Major Cromwell.

9. To desire Concurrence in a Pass, for Two Horses to be transported into Holland, for Lieutenant Colonel Killegrew.

and for the French King;

10. To desire Concurrence in a Pass for Twelve Nags to be transported into France, for the French King and His Pages.

about an Allowance for the Princess Henrietta;

11. To desire Concurrence in an Order, "That the Committee for the King's Children are to make Allowance to the Princess Henrietta, for her Maintenance for One Month; and that, in the mean Time, the said Committee do examine the Articles made upon the Surrender of Exeter; and report to both Houses how she is to be disposed of, for the future, according to the Tenor of the said Articles, with as much Expedition as may be."

and with the Ordinance for Ireland.

12. To desire their Concurrence in the Alterations in the Ordinance for Ireland.

The Earl of Warwicke reported a Paper; which was read, as follows:

Moreton to Command The Hunter.

Die Jovis, 21 Die Maii, 1646.

"By the Committee of Lords and Commons for the Admiralty and Cinque Ports.

"Whereas this Committee hath, upon View of certain Examinations taken at Portsmouth, seen Cause to suspend Joseph Bransby from Command of The Hunter Frigate, being a small Vessel of about Thirty Tuns; and whereas, for the keeping of the Vessel in Employment, being designed to Guernsey, she is at present ordered into the Charge of Wm. Moreton, who hath been formerly employed in the Parliament's Service upon the Coast of Guernsey, and demeaned himself well therein: This Committee doth therefore recommend it to both Houses of Parliament, that the said Wm. Moreton may be by them approved of, for Command of the said Vessel in this Summer's Expedition, in the room of the said Joseph Bransby."

Ordered, That this House approves of this Report; and that it be sent to the House of Commons, for their Concurrence therein.

And accordingly it was sent down, by Doctor Aylett and Doctor Heath.

Ordered, That the Counsel of the Lord Valentia and the Counsel of Sir Phillip Manwaring shall be heard, at this Bar, on this Day Sevennight.
