The Earl of Mulgrave and Viscount Hereford took the Covenant at the Table before the Lords, and subscribed the same.

Bellasis's Petition, for a Maintenance.

Mr. Tho. Bellasis's Petition was read; shewing, "That he hath no Maintenance to supply his Necessity, by reason his Grandfather's and Father's Estate is sequestered, and the Houses and Parks go to Decay whereof he is Tenant in Reversion."

Langham & al. and Limbrey & al.

The Judges have a further Time till Saturday next, to report their Opinions in the Case between Alderman Langham and Captain Limbrey.

Bellasis' Parks, &c. to be preserved, and a Maintenance to be allowed him.

Ordered, That the Petition of Tho. Bellasis be recommended to the House of Commons, that it may be referred to the Committee of Lords and Commons for Sequestrations, that they may (fn. 1) consider what is a competent and fit Allowance for his Maintenance, and that it may be allowed him; and that some Care may be taken that his Parks and Woods be preserved, and his Houses be repaired and kept from Ruin; and that the Concurrence of the House of Commons be desired herein.

The Petition of Edward Claxton and others, read.

Gwynns to be attached, for making an improper Use of their Order to fetch their Wives, &c. from Ireland.

Upon Information, "That Arthur and Roger Gwyn obtained an Order of this House, thereby to be enabled to go into Ireland, to get their Wives and Children out of the Rebels Custody, and bring them into England; but, contrary to this Order and the Intent of this House, make Collections in several Parishes in London, to the Dishonour of this House, and in Contempt of the said Order."

It is Ordered, That the said Order is hereby recalled; and that the Parties shall be apprehended, to answer the said Contempt, and the Abuse of the Order of this House.

Smart and Carr.

Upon hearing the Counsel of Hester Carr and Thomas Carr, and the Counsel of Peter Smart, whether the said Hester and Tho. Carr be in Contempt to the Order of this House: It is Ordered, That the said Contempt is hereby taken off, and the Matter of the Contempt is hereby dismissed this House.

Ogle, formerly committed for Treason and escaped, to be attached.

Ordered, That the Gentleman Usher attending this House presently apprehend and attach the Body (fn. 2) of Captain Ogle, who appeared this Day at the Hearing of Smart's Cause, he being formerly committed for Treason and other Crimes against the State, but escaped Prison, and hath since acted against the State; and that he stand committed, until he make it appear to this House how he comes to be released, and whether he hath compounded and made his Peace with the Parliament for his Delinquency.

Ly. Petre and Withypool, about Ly. Farmer.

Upon hearing the Counsel in the Behalf of the Lady Farmar, and also the Counsel of Captain Withypole, concerning the Custody of the Lady Farmar: It is Ordered, That the Clerk of the Crown shall make Enquiry whether any Writ hath issued out de Lunatiquo inquirendo, concerning the Lady Farmer; and whether, upon the Return of the Jury, she hath been committed for a Lunatic; and Account hereof is to be given to this House on Friday Morning next.

Ordered, That the Committee for Perusal of the Journal Book is reduced to any Two to be of the Quorum.
