Whitchcott to be instituted to North Cadbury.

Ordered, That Sir Nath. Brent shall give Institution and Induction to Mr. Whitchcott, to the Parsonage of North Cadbury, in Com. Som'sett, who hath the Presentation of the College of Emanuell of Cambridge; and the former Institution and Induction by the Bishop of Bayth and Wells, to Baldwin Ackland, is hereby declared void and null.

Ordered, That this House approves of Sir Wilfrid Lawson Knight, Ric'd Barwis, Wm. Briscoe, Thomas Lampleigh, Henry Tolson, and John Barwis, Esquires to be Deputy Lieutenants for the County of Cumberland.

Jenkins, Simpson, Cooper, and White, Petition for Arrears.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Jenkins, John Simpson, Francis Cooper, and Francis White Widow, the late Wife of Miles White; desiring, "That an Examination of Accompts may be made by the Committee of Accompts; and that Satisfaction may be made them of the Arrears due for Service in the State."

This sent to the House of Commons.

Answer from the H. C.

Mr. Doctor Aylett and Mr. Doctor Heath returned Answer from the House of Commons:

That they agree to the Two Committees touching Newarke, the one for a Committee to reside upon the Place with the Army at Newarke, the other to draw up Instructions for that Committee; and to meet with a proportionable Number, as is desired: That House agrees with this House in the passing of the Ordinance for the Continuance of a Martial Court in Kent for Six Months longer: To the rest, they will return an Answer by Messengers of their own.

Message to them, about Hancock, and the following Particulars.

Mr. Doctor Aylett and Mr. Doctor Heath to the House of Commons, to put them in Mind of Hancocke formerly recommended to them, and to put them in Mind of Devon Committee; and that they will concur with this House in these Deputy Lieutenants for Cumb'land; videlicet, Sir Wilferd Lawson, Richard Barwis, Will'm Biscoe, Thomas Lamplugh, Hen. Tilson, and John Barwis, Esquires; and the Petition of Thomas Jenkins, and others, recommended to them, to be referred to the Committee of Examination, as is desired.

Collection for Watson, Story, & al. Sufferers by Fire in Christ Church, London.

Upon the reading of the Petition of Everard Watson, Francis Story, Ambrose Tertman, Eliz. Mawtell, Anne Coole, Widows, and other Inhabitants of the Parish of Ch. Ch. London; shewing, "That, on the Seventh of April, 1644, a sudden violent Fire consumed their Dwelling-houses and Goods, to the Value of Two Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty Pounds."

It is Ordered, That a Brief be granted, to make a Collection, in Essex, Kent, Hartford, Midd. Surrey, Sussex, Norff. and Suff. for the said Petitioners; and to be sent to the House of Commons, for a Concurrence.

E. of Suffolk versus Sir R. Hitcham's Executors.

Ordered, That the Cause of the Earl of Suff. versus the Executors of Sir Rob'te Hitcham, upon the whole Matter in Law in the Demurrer, shall be further heard on the Monday Fortnight after Christmas; and all Parties are to have Notice, who are then to attend by their Counsel.

Sir T. Mayhern's Allowance, as an Attendant on the King's Children, to be increased.

It was moved, "That whereas an Ordinance of this House lately passed, for allowing Stipends to the Persons that attend upon the King's Children here, wherein Sir Theodore Mayberne is allowed but Two Hundred Pounds per Annum, which is too small a Maintenance for a Person of his Quality and Desert; and, considering his Losses, that it may be taken into Consideration how to increase his Allowance."

And it was directed, that the Earl of Northumb. and the Earl of Manchester do draw up somewhat to offer to this House on Monday next, that so it be communicated to the House of Commons.
