PRAYERS.

The Earl of Shaftesbury sat Speaker by virtue of a former Commission.

Wolverhampton Roads Bill Specially reported.

The Earl of Shaftesbury reported from the Lords Committees appointed to consider of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing and improving certain Roads in the Counties of Stafford and Salop, leading to and from the Town of Wolverhampton, in the County of Stafford;" "That the Committee had met, and considered the said Bill; and, in the first place, proceeded to enquire how far the Standing Orders of the House relative to Road Bills had been complied with; and found that the Notices of the Bill inserted in the County Newspapers in the Month of October last did not contain Mention of a Piece of Road (now referred to in the Bill) leading from near the Termination of the Wolverhampton Turnpike Roads towards Newport, as it was stated to the Committee by the Solicitor to the Bill, that it was not at that Time intended to include that Piece of Road within the Provisions of the Bill, it being considered that the said Piece of Road was Part of the Newport District of Roads, and that it was only recently that it had been discovered that such Piece of Road did not so belong to the Newport District, but was a mere common Highway; but that it was proved to the Committee that Notice of the Bill, containing Mention of the Intention to include such Piece of Road in the Provisions of the Bill was inserted Four Times in the Wolverhampton Chronicle and Salopian Journal in the Months of May and June last; and that it appeared to the Committee that the House of Commons had permitted the Parties to make this additional Provision in the Bill; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to their Lordships, without any Amendment."

And the said Report being read by the Clerk;

Ordered, That the said Report do lie on the Table.

Moray's Estate Bill, Report of Judges referred to the Comee.

The Report of the Judges in Scotland, to whom was referred a printed Copy of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Entailed Estates of Abercairney, and others, in the County of Perth, belonging to James Moray of Abercairney, Esquire, in Trustees, to sell the same, or so much thereof as may be necessary, and to apply the Price arising therefrom in the Payment of the Debts affecting or that may be made to affect the said Lands and Estates," for the Purpose of taking the Consent of any Heirs of Entail, now in Scotland, of the Estates of Abercairney and others, and also the Consents or Acceptance of any such Trustees or intended Trustees as may be in Scotland, in relation to the said Bill, thereto, was read.

Ordered, That the said Report be referred to the Committee to whom the said Bill stands committed.

Langley Inclosure Bill:

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for inclosing Lands in the Hamlet of Langley, in the Parish of Claverdon, in the County of Warwick."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Hatton, &c. Inclosure Bill:

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for inclosing Lands in the several Parishes of Hatton, Haseley and Wroxhall, in the County of Warwick."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Handsworth Road Bill:

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for more effectually maintaining and improving the Road from Soho Hill, in the Parish of Handsworth, to the Walsall Road on the Northern Side of Hamstead Bridge, and another Road from Brown's Green to the Friary, in the County of Stafford."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Messages to H.C. that the Lords have agreed to the 3 preceding Bills.

And Messages were, severally, sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Farrer and Sir Giffin Wilson;

To acquaint them, That the Lords have agreed to the said Bills, without any Amendment.

Royal Military Canal Account delivered.

The House being informed, "That Mr. O'Neil, from the Commissioners of the Royal Military Canal, attended;"

He was called in; and delivered at the Bar, pursuant to the Directions of an Act of Parliament,

"An Account of all Rates and Tolls, and Receipts of Money and Disbursements, and Balances remaining of any such Receipts of Rates and Tolls, of the Royal Military Canal, for the Year ending 31st December 1830."

And then he withdrew.

And the Title thereof being read by the Clerk;

Ordered, That the said Account do lie on the Table.

Langton's Act Amendment Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to amend an Act for vesting and securing to John Stephen Langton Esquire certain Profits and Emoluments for a limited Time."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to the Consideration of the Lords following:

Their Lordships, or any Five of them, to meet on Monday next, at Ten o'Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings, near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Kennet Navigation Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to alter and amend the several Acts for making navigable the River Kennet, in the County of Berks."

Avon, &c. Railway Bill.

Wakefield Road Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to amend an Act of His late Majesty King George the Fourth, for more effectually maintaining the Road from Teignmouth to Dawlish, and for making Roads from Dawlish to the Exeter Turnpike Roads, together with a Road from Southtown to Chudleigh, and certain Branches communicating with the same, all in the County of Devon; and to make and maintain other Roads communicating with the said Roads."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to the Consideration of the Lords Committees aforenamed:

Manchester & Sheffield Railway Bill read 2 a, & committed

Petition against it, referred to the Comee:

Upon reading the Petition of The Right Honorable and Right Reverend Edward Venables Harcourt Archbishop of York, and of Robert Haldane Bradshaw Esquire, and William Courtenay Esquire, Devisees in Trust under the last Will and Testament of The Most Noble Francis Duke of Bridgewater, deceased; taking notice of the lastmentioned Bill, and praying their Lordships, "That they may be heard by themselves, their Counsel, Agents and Witnesses, against the said Bill; and that the same may not pass into a Law:"

It is Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Committee to whom the said Bill stands committed, and that the Petitioners be at liberty to be heard against the same by themselves, their Counsel, Agents and Witnesses, as desired; and that Counsel be heard for the Bill at the same Time, if they think fit.

Reform of Parliament, Petition from Berkeley in favor of.

Upon reading the Petition of the Inhabitants of the Borough and Parish of Berkeley, in the County of Gloucester, and the adjoining Neighbourhood, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their Lordships, "That when the Bill now before the House of Commons for a Reform in the Representation shall come before this House, they will pass the same into a Law, thereby entitling their Lordships to everlasting Fame in the Page of History, and to the Gratitude of the Petitioners, their Children and Posterity:"

Rothesay Harbours & Gaol, Bill, M. of Bute sworn to give Evidence on.

The Marquess of Bute was sworn, at the Table, by The Lord Speaker, in order to give Evidence before the Committee to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for improving, repairing and maintaining the Harbours of the Burgh of Rothesay, in the County of Bute, and for building and maintaining a Gaol, Court House and Offices for the said Burgh and County," stands committed.

Master of the Mint's Salary Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to reduce the Salary of the Master and Worker of His Majesty's Mint."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the Whole House.

Ordered, That the House be put into a Committee upon the said Bill on Monday next.

District Parishes, (Ireland,) Petition from 15 Townlands in Diocese of Leighlin & Ferns respecting.

Upon reading the Petition of the Protestant Inhabitants of Fifteen Townlands in the several Parishes of Fenagh, Barragh and Clonegal, in the United Dioceses of Leighlin and Ferns, Counties of Carlow and Wicklow, in Ireland, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying, "That their Lordships will be pleased to grant such Power to the Diocesan as will enable his Lordship to form a District Parish of the Townlands inhabited by the Petitioners, and thereby afford them those Privileges they so much value as Christians and Protestants:"

It is Ordered, That the said Petition do lie on the Table.

Union of Parishes, &c. (Ireland) Bill presented.

The Lord Bishop of Leighlin and Ferns presented to the House a Bill, intituled, "An Act to amend an Act passed in the Seventh and Eighth Years of the Reign of His late Majesty King George the Fourth, intituled, "An Act to consolidate and amend the Laws in force in Ireland for Unions and Divisions of Parishes, and for uniting or disappropriating Appropriate Parishes or Parts of Parishes; and to make further Provision with respect to erecting Chapels of Ease, and making Perpetual Cures."

The said Bill was read the First Time.

Ordered, That the said Bill be printed.

Calcraft's Divorce Bill:

Ordered, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act to dissolve the Marriage of Granby Hales Calcraft Esquire with Emma Sarah otherwise Emma his now Wife, and to enable him to marry again; and for other Purposes therein mentioned," be taken into further Consideration on Friday the 5th of August next; and that the Lords be summoned.

Witnesses to attend on it.

Ordered, That Captain George Spiller of the Royal Artillery, Scott, Keeper of Steven's Hotel, Bond Street, William Frederick Collard and Captain Thomas B. Wall, do attend this House on Friday the 5th Day of August next, in order to their being examined as Witnesses upon the further Consideration of the lastmentioned Bill.
