Earl of Tyrconnel's Petition claiming a Right to vote for Peers for Ireland, referred to Com ee for Privileges:

Upon reading the Petition of John Delaval Earl of Tyrconnel, Viscount Carlingford and Baron Carpenter; setting forth, "That by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of Ireland, bearing Date the 1st Day of May in the First Year of the Reign of His late Majesty King George the Third, George Baron Carpenter of the Kingdom of Ireland, the Petitioner's Grandfather, was created Viscount Carlingford and Earl of Tyrconnel of the same Kingdom; and the same Titles were thereby limited to him and the Heirs Male of his Body for ever: That the Petitioner's said Grandfather died on the 9th Day of March 1762, leaving George Viscount Carlingford, the Petitioner's Uncle, his eldest Son and Heir, who thereupon succeeded to the said Titles of the Petitioner's Grandfather: That the Petitioner's said Uncle George Second Earl of Tyrconnel died on the 15th Day of April 1805, without Issue Male, whereupon the Petitioner's elder Brother George Carpenter (the eldest Son of the said Second Earl's deceased Brother Charles Carpenter) succeeded to the said Titles, as the next Heir Male of the Petitioner's Grandfather: That the Petitioner's said Brother George Third Earl of Tyrconnel died at Wilna, in Russia, in the Month of December 1812, without Issue, leaving the Petitioner his only Brother and Heir, who thereupon succeeded to the Titles of his said late Brother, and became Fourth Earl of Tyrconnel, and as such claims a Right to vote at the Election of Peers of Ireland to sit in the Parliament of the United Kingdom;" and therefore praying, "That his said Right may be admitted by their Lordships:"

It is Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Lords Committees for Privileges, to consider and report; and that the Committee do meet to consider of the said Claim on Friday next.
