Privilege; Complaint was made by The Lord Farnham of a
Letter received by him from Lieutenant Thomas Woodcock,
4th Dragoon Guards, animadverting on a Speech made by his
Lordship in this House on the 21st of February last; and a
Witness having proved the Handwriting of the said Thomas
Woodcock, he was ordered to attend on the 17th Instant to
answer the Complaint. - Lieutenant Woodcock called in,
admitted having written the Letter in a Moment of Irritation,
begged Pardon of the Noble Lord, and threw himself on the
Mercy of the House: Resolved, Nemine Dissentiente, That the
said Letter is a Breach of the Privileges of this House; that the
said Lieutenant Woodcock be reprimanded and discharged from
further Attendance; accordingly, he was reprimanded by The
Lord Chancellor, and discharged from further Attendance.
