Mein v. M'Cleland et al:

After hearing Counsel this Day upon the Petition and Appeal of Alexander Mein, Accountant in Glasgow, Trustee on the Sequestrated Estate of James Taylor, Banker and Farmer at Whitburn; complaining of an Interlocutor of the Lord Ordinary in Scotland, of the 9th of February 1827; and also of an Interlocutor of the Lords of Session there, of the First Division, of the 8th of June 1827; and praying, "That the same might be reversed, varied or altered, or that the Appellant might have such Relief in the Premises, as to this House, in their Lordships great Wisdom, should seem meet;" as also upon the Answer of James M'Cleland Accountant in Glasgow, Trustee on the Sequestrated Estate of John Taylor and Company, Grocers and Merchants in Glasgow, and of the deceased James Taylor junior, and William Taylor junior, the individual Partners of that Concern, and also as Trustee on the Sequestrated Estate of John Taylor, Grocer in Glasgow, and for George Ord, Accountant in Glasgow, Trustee on the Sequestrated Estate of Henry Taylor, Baker there, Mathew Taylor, Grocer there, Robert Taylor, Baker in Whitburn, and Thomas Taylor, at present in the East Indies, and the said Mathew Taylor as his Mandatory, put in to the said Appeal; and due Consideration had of what was offered on either Side in this Cause:

Interlocutors Affirmed.

It is Ordered, and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby dismissed this House, and that the said Interlocutors therein complained of, be, and the same are hereby Affirmed.

Campbell v. Macfarlane et al.

After hearing Counsel fully in the Cause wherein Alexander Campbell junior, Esquire, is Appellant, and William Macfarlane, and others, are Respondents:

It is Ordered, That the further Consideration of the said Cause be put off sine Die.

Gray & Woodrop v. M'Nair.

After hearing Counsel, in Part, in the Cause wherein Robert Gray and John Woodrop are Appellants, and James M'Nair Esquire is Respondent:

It is Ordered, That the further Hearing of the said Cause be put off to Tuesday next.

Ld. Monson takes his Seat.

This Day Frederic John Lord Monson sat first in Parliament, after the Death of his Father John George Lord Monson; his Lordship having first, at the Table, taken the Oaths, and also taken and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Scott v. Allnutt & Mackenzie.

Upon reading the Petition of John Allnutt, one of the Respondents in a Cause depending in this House, to which James Scott is Appellant; praying their Lordships, "That Leave may be granted to him to withdraw the Cases formerly lodged by him, and to lodge his Case, as amended, with the Clerk of Parliament:"

It is Ordered, That the Petitioner be at liberty to withdraw the Cases formerly lodged by him, and to lodge his Case, as amended, as desired.

Inglis v. Walker.

East India Com ee, Evidence to be printed:

Ordered, That the Evidence taken from Time to Time before the Select Committee appointed to enquire into the present State of the Affairs of The East India Company, and into the Trade between Great Britain, the East Indies and China, be printed for the Use of the Members of this House, but that no Copies thereof be delivered, except to the Members of the Committee, 'till further Order.

Lunatic Licensing Balances Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Robert Gordon and others;

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act to authorize the Transfer of certain Balances in the Hands of the Clerks of the Peace of the several Counties of England and Wales, on account of Lunatic Asylums Licences; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The said Bill was read the First Time.

Ordered, That the said Bill be printed.

Wool Laws, Petition from Romney Marsh for Alteration of.

Upon reading the Petition of the Occupiers of Land in Romney Marsh and the adjoining Levels, and Growers of the Staple Commodity of this Kingdom, Wool, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying, "That as their Lordships must now see the injurious Tendency of the present Wool Laws, that they will again take them into their serious Consideration, and give the Petitioners that Relief which they stand so much in need of, and without which many of them must ultimately be ruined:"

It is Ordered, That the said Petition do lie on the Table.
