Footnotes

  • 1. The Sums in these Columns do not include the Amount of the Government Securities in the Hands of the Commissioners of the Sinking Fund.—The Operation of that Fund has now ceased.
  • 2. The large Reduction of the Amount of "Debts outstanding" in Bengal in 1815, as compared with 1814, was caused by the Transfer in 1814-15, to "Account Current London," of various Charges for Expeditions to Egypt, the Isle of France, Bourbon and Java, which in former Years have been considered as Debts due in India.
