Sir Edward and Dr. Aylett, sent on Saturday last to the House of Commons with a Message, return with this Answer:

That they will send an Answer concerning the Order touching The States Ambassadors by Messengers of their own.

Mrs. Roach's Cause.

Ordered, That this House will hear what the Escheator of London can say, concerning Mrs. Roche's Business, To-morrow Morning, at which Time the Escheator shall attend this House.

Ordinance to free the Parks of Peers, &c. from Assessments.

An Ordinance for discharging the Parks of the Peers, &c. from Payment of Assessments, was read Twice, and Ordered to be committed:

Any Three, to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Three of the Clock.

Message to the H. C. with Two Ordinances.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Rob't Rich and Mr. Page:

To deliver to them Two Ordinances, One concerning the Jewels at St. James, the other concerning Colonel Ridge; to which their Lordships do agree with the Alrations, wherein their Lordships desire their Concurrence.

The King gone to Hertfordshire with His Army.

The Earl of Northumb. reported from the Committee of both Kingdoms, to acquaint this House, "That the King is gone into the associated Counties of Hertford, &c. with His Army;" and also presented some Letters which came from The Leguer at Yorke.

Burton, E. of Clare's Servant, arrested.

King sent for.

Upon Information to the House, "That John Burton, a menial Servant to the Earl of Clare, is arrested, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament, by George Kinge, a Serjeant:" It is Ordered, That the said John Burton be forthwith released from his Restraint; and that the said George Kinge do forthwith appear before this House, to answer the same.

Message from the H. C. with an Ordinance;

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Nicolls, &c.

To desire their Lordships Concurrence in these Particulars:

1. An Ordinance for paying Monies out of the Excise, for storing of Magazines of Ammunition for the Armies.

Agreed to.

about adding the Names of the Commissioners;

2. To desire Expedition for the adding the Names to the Commissioners of Parliament, to join with the Scotts Commissioners.

Agreed.

and for Lord Coventry's Assessment to be employed for L. Fairfax's Army.

3. To desire that the Assessment of the Twentieth Part upon the Lord Coventrye's Estate may be dis posed of and employed for the Payment of the Lord Fairfaixe's Army.

Ordered, To be taken into Consideration.

Order for paying Money for providing Arms, &c.

"It is this Day Ordered, by the Lords and Commons House of Parliament, That the Fifteen Hundred Pounds per Month assigned by the Ordinance intituled, "An Ordinance for the speedy compleating and maintaining of the Army under the immediate Command of my Lord General," for providing Arms and Ammunition to furnish the Public Stores, be paid from Time to Time to the Lieutenant of the Ordnance, to whom the Care of furnishing the Public Stores is referred."

Commissioners added to the Committee with the Northern Army.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That the Earl of Manchester, the Lord Fairefaix, Sir Tho. Fairefaix, and Sir Wm. Constable, shall be added to the Committee appointed to reside with the Northern and Scotts Armies, armed with the same Power and Instructions as the other Committee have."

The Answer returned was:

That this House agrees to the Ordinance for adding the Names to be Commissioners appointed to reside with the Scottish Army; and to the Ordinance for paying Fifteen Hundred Pounds a Month for providing of Arms and Ammunition; and concerning their Desire that the Assessment of the Twentieth Part of the Coventrye's Estates to be disposed of to the Forces of the Lord Fairfaix for their Payment, their Lordships will take the same into present Consideration, and send an Answer by Messengers of their own.

Ordinance for associating Oxford, Bucks, and Berks.

Next, the Ordinance concerning the associated Counties of Oxon, Bucks, and Berks, was read, for establishing Committees in the several Counties, and committed to

Upon Information to this House, "That the Earl of Leycester being come to Warwicke to render himself to the Parliament, and in his coming up hither is taken by a Troop of Horse of the Parliament's:" Hereupon this House Ordered, That the Gentleman Usher attending this House shall signify to the Earl of Leycester, when he comes to London, that it is the Pleasure of this House, that he keep his House until the further Pleasure of this House be known.

The Messengers return with this Answer from the House of Commons:

That they agree to the Alterations in the Ordinance concerning the Jewels, and also concerning the Ordinance touching Colonel Ridgley. (Here enter them.)

Ordinance for borrowing 4000 l. upon the Jewels at St. James's, to pay the Forces in Oxfordshire.

"Be it Ordained, by the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, That, upon Payment of the Sum of Four Thousand Pounds, by John Warner and Thomas Andrewes, Aldermen of the City of London, unto Thomas Knight and Thomas Scott Esquires, Persons appointed by the Committee of the House of Commons, for the Counties of Oxford, Bucks, and Berks, to receive the same, That the Cabinet, Jewels, Money, and Plate, found at St. James, and ordered by the House of Commons, 13 Junii, 1644, to be engaged for the Advance of Monies for setting forth of Forces into Oxfordshire and the Parts adjoining, shall be deposited and engaged into the Hands of the said John Warner and Thomas Andrewes; and the said John Warner and Thomas Andrewes are hereby authorized to deposite and engage the said Cabinet, Money, Jewels, and Plate, or any Part thereof, unto such Person or Persons from whom they shall borrow or procure any Sum or Sums of Money towards the advancing the said Sum of Four Thousand Pounds, they the said John Warner and Thomas Andrewes, nor any of the said Persons that shall lend any Sum of Money towards the advancing of the said Four Thousand Pounds, not altering the Property thereof; provided, that in case the said Sum of Four Thousand Pounds shall be re-paid unto the said John Warner and Thomas Andrewes, or such Person or Persons who shall advance and lend the same, within Six Months after the publishing of this Ordinance, with Interest after the Rate of Eight per Centum for the Forbearance thereof, that then the said John Warner and Thomas Andrewes, or such Person or Persons into whose Hands they shall deposite the said Goods, or any Part thereof, shall restore and deliver back, unto such Persons as shall be appointed by both Houses of Parliament to receive the same, the said Cabinet, Money, Jewels, and Plate, and every Part and Piece thereof, in Specie, as they received the same; and in case the Sum of Four Thousand Pounds, with Interest after the Rate of Eight per Cent. for Forbearance thereof, be not re-paid unto the said John Warner and Thomas Andrewes, or such Person or Persons who shall lend the same, within the said Space of Six Months next after the publishing of this Ordinance, then the said John Warner and Thomas Andrewes, and such Persons in whose Hands they shall engage any Part of the said Goods according to this Ordinance, are hereby authorized and enabled to retain and keep the said Goods, and every Part thereof, and to sell and dispose thereof, for Satisfaction of such Sums of Money and Interest as shall be due to them, and every of them severally: And it is further Ordained and Declared, by the said Lords and Commons, That the said Sum of Four Thousand Pounds, advanced by the said John Warner and Thomas Andrewes, and such Persons from whom they shall procure or borrow the same, or any Part thereof, shall be repaid, within the said Space of Six Months, with such Interest as shall be due for the same, out of the Profits which shall be raised upon the new Excise.

"Provided, That all such Plate, Jewels, or Goods, which do appear to be the proper Goods of Mrs. Abercromy, now attendant with the Princess in Holland, be excepted out of this present Ordinance."

Order for 979 l. 4s. 4d. to Colonel Rudgley.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That the Sum of Nine Hundred and Seventy-nine Pounds, Four Shillings, and Four Pence, shall be allowed to Colonel Symond Rudgley, in Recompence of his Service, upon Accompt; and that it be allowed and paid Half-yearly to him the said Colonel, by the Committee at Stafford, out of the Estates and Lands in the County of Stafford, of Sir Edward Littleton; and the said Committee are hereby Ordered forthwith to allow the same accordingly."
