Colonel Fox's Ordinance.

An Ordinance brought up Yesterday from the House of Commons, concerning the Payment of Colonel Fox's Garrison, was read Thrice, and Agreed to.

Lady Coventry's Assessment.

Whereas the Lady Coventry was, by Order of this House, to be assessed by this House as a Peer for her Twentieth Part: Now, upon her own Desire, it is Ordered, That (fn. 1) be permitted and left to make her Composition at Haberdashers Hall for the same.

Archbishop of Cant's Trial.

Next, this House (fn. 2) proceeded to the further Trial of the Archbishop, upon the Remainder of the Seventh Articles of the First and Second Charges.

And the Evidence being ended, the Archbishop (fn. 3) was demanded to make his Answer.

He desired some Time to prepare his Answer.

And this House Ordered him to make his Answer at Four of the Clock this Afternoon.

House to fit only Three Days in the Week.

Ordered, That the former Order is hereby revived, to sit but Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; and then to meet at Nine of the Clock in the Morning.

Message to the H. C. to do the same.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Rob't Rich and Mr. Page:

To let them know, that, for the better Expedition of Business, this House intends to sit but Three Times a Week, videlicet, Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays; and to desire them to sit likewise but those Days, if it may stand with their Conveniency.

Ordinance to sequester Mr. Middlemore's Estates, to pay the Forces in Edgebaston Hall, commanded by Col. Fox.

"Whereas Colonel John Fox (fn. 4) hath with great Courage aud Valour possessed himself of Edgebaston Hall, in the County of Warwicke, being the Mansion-house of Rich'd Middlemore Esquire, a Delinquent and Papist, and with great Fidelity and Hazard of his Person hath maintained and fortified the same, and planted a Garrison therein, consisting of about Four Hundred Horse and Foot, and with that Force hath besides done many good Services to the Commonwealth: The Lords and Commons now assembled in Parliament, taking the Premises into Consideration, do Order and Ordain, That the said Colonel Fox shall have, hold, and enjoy, the said Mansion-house, together with the Manor of Edgbaston; and shall take and receive the Rents, Issues, and Profits thereof, and also the Rents and Revenues of the said Richard Middlemore, in the Parish of Kingsnorton, Yardley, and Northfeild, in the County of Worcester, upon Accompt, for and towards the Maintenance and Support of the said Garrison, and for and towards the Payment and Satisfaction of such Sums of Money as shall be found justly due to the said Garrison, for the Time past; and the several Committees of the Counties of Warwick, Worcester, and Stafford, or any One of them, are hereby authorized and required to take and examine the Accompts of the said Colonel, and to inform themselves of the certain Yearly Value of the said Manor and Lands, that, according to the true Rates thereof, the said Colonel Fox may be charged for so long as he shall possess the same."

Archbishop of Cant's Trial.

The House heard the Archbishop of Canterbury make his Defence to the Evidence given against (fn. 6) him this Morning.

And the Committee of the House of Commons that managed the Evidence made the Reply.

Ordered, That Monday Morning next is appointed for the further Trial of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
