PRAYERS.

De Paus, a Pass to Holland.

Ordered, That Salomon De Paus shall have a Pass, to transport himself to Rotterdam.

Kinnersley, Leave to take Wardrobe Stuff from The Tower, to furnish St. John's College, for the French Ambassador.

It was moved, in Behalf of Clement Kynnersley, Yeoman of His Majesty's Wardrobe, "That he having received Command from the Earl of Dorsett, to send Wardrobe Stuff to Oxford, to furnish St. John's Colledge, for the Reception of a French Ambassador; and he humbly desires Leave from the Houses of Parliament, that he may do what he is commanded, by being enabled by an Order of both Houses, that he may fetch some ordinary Wardrobe Stuff from His Majesty's Wardrobe of The Tower (which is the only proper Store for such Services); it being not intended, nor never was, to carry any of His Majesty's Rich Hangings for that Service; and what he takes, either from thence, or from any other of His Majesty's Wardrobes, he desires may be viewed and searched before it be sent away."

To which Motion this House (fn. 1) Agreed.

Message to the H. C. about it; and for a Conference about the Importation of Currants.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Edward Leech and Mr. Dr. Aylett:

To communicate Mr. Kynnersley's Request to them; and to acquaint them, that their Lordships do consent to his Request; and further, to desire a Conference with them, concerning the Ordinance against Importation of Currants.

Spratt to be brought before the House.

Ordered, That Steven Spratt, committed by this House to Newgate, shall be brought hither on Monday Morning next; and then this House will proceed against him.

Message from the H. C. about procuring Money for the Lord General's Army;

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Strode and others, to this Purpose:

1. To acquaint their Lordships, that the Army under the Earl of Essex will be in great Necessity, unless there be some speedy Course taken for to procure Money; therefore they desire that the Lords of the Committee for the Advance of Monies at Haberdashers Hall may be appointed to meet, to attend that Business.

Agreed to; and Ordered, That the Committees meet this Afternoon, at Haberdashers Hall.

about Justice Berkley's Fine being paid in.

2. To desire their Lordships would please to give Justice Berkley Notice, that he provide his Money for his Fine, according to the Judgement, or else their Lordships will take a further Course to recover it.

Agreed to send to him;

Committee to speak with him about it;

And The Earl of Sarum,
The Earl of Pembrooke,
The Lord Viscount Say & Seale, and
The Lord Howard,

Are appointed by this House to speak with Justice Berkley, and know of him whether he will pay in his Fine according to the Judgement, and report his Answer to this House.

for a Conference about Scotch Affairs;

3. To desire a Conference, touching the Scotts Affairs.

Agreed, To give a Conference, presently.

and about Currants;

4. That the House of Commons are ready, at this Conference, to give a Conference concerning Currants.

and with Committees Names for Ipswich.

5. To desire Concurrence, that Mr. Rob't Duncan and Mr. Peter Fisher, Bailiffs, and Mr. John Brandling, may be added to the Committees for Sequestrations and Weekly Assessments, for the Town of Ipsich.

Agreed to.

The Answer returned was:

Answer.

That their Lordships will send to Judge Berkley, to give him Notice to provide his Money at the Day; and that their Lordships have appointed the Committee to meet at Haberdashers Hall this Afternoon; that their Lordships will give a present Conference, in the Painted Chamber, as is desired; at which Conference, their Lordships will communicate to them the Business concerning Currants.

The Messengers sent to the House of Commons return with this Answer:

That they will give a present Conference, in the Painted Chamber, concerning Currants; and concerning the Paper touching the Wardrobe Things to be sent to Oxford, they will send an Answer by Messengers of their (fn. 2) own.

Smith, Constable of Micham, sent for, for not billeting Soldiers.

Upon Complaint made to this House, by the Earl of Stamford, "That the High Constable of Micham doth refuse to billet some of his Soldiers, upon the Warrant of the Committee for the Safety:" Hereupon this House Ordered, That the said Constable, Smith, shall be sent for, to appear before this House forthwith, to answer the same.

Delinquents sent for, for cutting Wood in Enfield Chace.

Upon the Motion of the Earl of Sarum, "That many People do cut and destroy the Woods, in Enfeild Chace:" It is Ordered, That such Names as the Earl of Sarum shall give to the Clerk of this House, with Affidavit, shall be sent for, (fn. 3) as Delinquents, to answer the same.

Walker to be attached.

Ordered, That the Gentleman Usher of this House shall take into his Custody the Body of Clement Walker Esquire, and bring him before this House on Monday next, and afterwards keep him in his Custody until this House gives further Directions herein.

Importation of Currants.

Ordered, That the Lord Viscount Say & Seale doth manage the Conference touching the Business of Currants.

Sir Thomas Stafford to have a Pass from Oxford

Upon Information to this House, "That Sir Thomas Stafford is warned to appear before the Committee for the Sequestrations; but, in regard he is at Oxford, he dares not come:" Hereupon this House Ordered, That it be recommended to the Lord General, to give him a safe Conduct, to come.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference; which being ended, the House was resumed.
