PRAYERS.

Earl of Manchester, Speaker.

Mr. Mountague, a Protection.

Ordered, That Mr. Jeames Mountague shall have a Protection, for to keep his House in Wilts from Molestation and Plundering, &c. and that he shall have Liberty and Allowance to keep, for the Defence of his House, Ten Fowling-pieces, Birding-pieces, or Muskets.

Phillips, a Pass for Skeletons.

Ordered, That Mr. Phillips, Surgeon at Gloc'ter, shall have a Pass, to carry down to Gloc'ster Two Anatomies.

Sir Thomas Cary and the Bishop of Ardagh.

Ordered, That the Lord Bishop of Ardagh shall attend this House on Saturday next, to shew Cause why he refuses to appear at the Suit of Sir Tho. Cary, in Ireland, according to his Consent.

The Messengers return with this Answer:

That they have delivered their Message concerning the Earl of Newporte to the House of Commons.

Message from the H. C. for Concurrence in some Ordinances;

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Christopher Yelverton Knight and Baronet; which consisted of these Parts:

1. To communicate to their Lordships a Letter from the Town of Lynn, of some Distempers there; for preventing whereof, the House of Commons have passed an Ordinance, wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

2. He brought up Two Ordinances of Sequestrations, wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

and to expedite the One for seizing Estates of Papists, &c.

3. The House of Commons desires their Lordships to give Expedition to the Ordinance formerly brought up from the House of Commons, for the sequestering and seizing the Estates of Papists and Malignants, &c.

The Ordinance was read, and agreed to. (Here enter.)

Ordered, That the Orders for the Sequestration shall be read To-morrow, with the rest; and this House will (fn. 1) take the Ordinance for the cessing of Papists, &c. into speedy Consideration.

The Answer returned was:

That this House agrees with the House of Commons in the Ordinance concerning Lynn; and concerning the Ordinance touching the assessing of Papists, &c. this House will take it into speedy Consideration; and touching the Orders of Sequestration, this House will send an Answer by Messengers of their own.

Trollop and Rogers, a Pass to France.

Ordered, That Wm. Trollop, Son and Heir of Sir Thomas Trolope, of Casewicke, in Com. Lyncolne, Baronet, and George Rogers, of London, Gentleman, shall have a Pass, to transport themselves into France.

Order for 300l. for Shallaker and Fitchett, for Fuel sent to the H. C.

The Order concerning the Payment of Three Hundred Pounds, to Shallaker and Fitchett, for Fuel, which they have served the Lords House with, was read, and approved of, and sent to the House of Commons, by Message, by Mr. Doctor Bennet and Doctor Heath, to desire their Concurrence therein. (Here enter it.)

Ordinance to regulate the Trained Bands, &c. in King's Lynn.

"Whereas, by an Order of the Lords and Commons in Parliament, bearing Date the 22d Day of September last, Power is given to the Mayor and Aldermen of Kings Lynne, in the County of Norfolk, for the Time being, to muster, train, and command all the Trained Bands and other Persons in the said Town, able to bear Arms; and to nominate and appoint Captains, and other Officers, to conduct, lead, and command the said Trained Bands, and to do and execute divers other Matters and Things, for the Defence and Safety of the said Town, as by the said Order more at large appeareth: And whereas Complaint hath been made, by the well-affected Inhabitants of the said Town, of a great Neglect and Miscarriage in the said Mayor and Aldermen, in the Execution of the said Order, the Lords and Commons, taking the same into Consideration, do Order and Ordain, That the Power and Authority given by the said Order of the Two and Twentieth of September last, to the said Mayor and Aldermen, shall from henceforth cease; and that the Mayor of the said Town for the Time being, with Mr. John Percivall, Mr. John May, Mr. Thomas Toll, Captain Thomas Slany, Mr. Nathaniell Maxie, Captain Thomas Rivett, and Lieutenant James Astwood, or any Four or more of them, shall have Power and Authority, from Time to Time, to do and execute all and every Matters and Things, which the said Mayor and Aldermen, or any of them, by the Advice of the Common Council of the said Town, might have done by virtue of the said Order of the 22d of September last; and that they, for so doing, shall be protected and saved harmless, by the Authority of both Houses of Parliament."
