PRAYERS.

Earl of Manchester was appointed by the House to be Speaker this Day.

La Luetti, Agent from Florence, a Protection; and Delinquents sent for, for assaulting his House.

Upon Information to this House, "That Signior Amarigo la Luetti had his House assaulted Yesterday, with Musketeers:" Therefore, in regard that he is a Public Minister, Agent to the Duke of Florence, it is Ordered, That he shall have the Protection of this House, for his Security; and that the Parties that committed this Assault shall be sent for, to answer the same.

Maunder, E. of Bedford's Servant, a Protection.

Ordered, That Thomas Maunder, of Claudon, employed in the Affairs of the Earl of Bedford, shall have the Protection of this House, to free him from Plundering or Molestation, that so he may the better attend, the Service of the Earl of Bedford.

Lord Mayor to call a Common Council To-morrow.

Ordered, That the Lord Mayor of London be sent (fn. 1) to, to call a Common Council To-morrow, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Gisborough, in Error.

Ordered, That Gisborough shall assign Errors peremptorily upon Monday come Three Weeks; else (fn. 2) the Transcript of the Writ (fn. 3) and the Record shall be returned into the King's Bench, that Judgement may be taken out.

Message to the H. C. concerning the Propositions.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Edward Leech and Dr. Bennet:

To desire a Conference, concerning the Votes and the Reasons received from them touching the Propositions.

Fitchet and Shallaker, for Firing for this House.

Upon reading the Petition of Wilks Fitchet and Wm. Shallaker, desiring to be paid for the Fuel which they have furnished this House withall: It is Ordered, That Sir Rob't Pye be spoke withall, to know what Monies of the King's [ (fn. 1) there are] that are undisposed of, that so some Course may be taken for the Payment of these Monies, and likewise for the Payment of the Monies to the Paviours for paving of The Ould Pallace.

Message from the H. C. to expedite the Ordinances for raising Monies.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Strode:

That the House of Commons have received Information, that there is an Intention to call a Common Council, for the procuring of Monies, for the Supply of the Army; that there are divers Ordinances for the Raising of Monies, and the Furthering the Supply of Monies: Therefore they desire their Lordships would give all Expedition in the passing of those Ordinances.

The Answer returned was:

Answer.

That their Lordships will take into Consideration the Ordinances concerning the raising of Monies.

Deer-stealers in Enfeild Chace committed.

Ordered, That the Persons that are apprehended in Engfeild Chase, for Deer-stealing, shall be (fn. 4) committed to The Fleete, there to remain until the Pleasure of this House be further known.

Message from the H. C. with a Petition to the King, to defer the Lent Assizes.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Whitlocke:

That, in regard it will (fn. 5) be very inconvenient to have the General Assizes kept this Lent, the House of Commons have drawn a Petition, to be presented to His Majesty, for deferring and putting off the said Assizes, wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

The said Petition was read. (Here enter it.)

Ordered, That this House agrees with the House of Commons in this Petition; and that it shall be speedily sent to the King, to Oxford, by the Speaker, inclosed in a Letter to the Lord Viscount Faulkland.

The Answer returned was:

Answer.

This House agrees with the House of Commons in the Petition now brought up, and have Ordered it shall be speedily sent to the King.

Printers.

Ordered, That this House will take into Consideration the Business concerning the Printers on Tuesday Morning next, at which Time the Witnesses are to be present.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference; which being ended, the House was resumed.

Captain Bradley's Cause.

Ordered, That this House will hear Captain Bradley's Cause on Wednesday next.

Ordered, That this House shall sit at Four of the Clock this Afternoon.

Message to the H. C. that the Lords intend to fit P. M.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Doctor Aylett and Doctor Heath:

To let them know, that this House intends to sit this Afternoon, at Four of the Clock.

Petition to the King, to defer the Lent Assizes.

"To the King's most Excellent Majesty.

"The Lords and Commons in Parliament humbly shew, That Your Justices, and other Your liege People, who are or shall be summoned, or have other Cause to attend, at the next Assizes and General Gaol Delivery, appointed to be shortly kept, in the several Counties of England and Wales, cannot resort thither without great Peril of their Lives, and Damage to their Estates, by reason of the present miserable Distractions and Being of armed Forces in all Parts of Your Realm: In regard whereof, the Lords and Commons do humbly advise and desire Your Majesty to command, that the said Assizes and General Gaol Delivery be not holden as is appointed; but that the same may be deferred, until it shall please God to restore Peace unto Your People."

Ordered, That this House will (fn. 6) take into Debate the Ordinance for the (fn. 7) Weekly Raising of Monies, for the Supply of the Army, To-morrow Morning.
