PRAYERS.

Lord Kymbolton appointed to be Speaker this Day.

Mr. Yates and Family a Pass to France.

Ordered, That Mr. Yates shall have a Pass, for himself, his Wife, and Three Servants, to go into France.

Lord Roper, D°.

Ordered, That the Lord Roper shall have a Pass, for himself and his Lady, to go into France.

Ld. General to send for the Captains Killegrew and Doleman.

Ordered, That the Lord General shall have Liberty to send for Captain Killegrew and Captain Doleman; and, if they will give their Words not to be employed in this Business, his Excellency may release them.

De Cheveney to send some Lead to France.

Ordered, That Monsieur De Cheveny shall have Liberty to transport a small Quantity of Lead into France, Custom-free.

Capt. Conisby and others released.

Upon the humble Petition of Captain Conisby, and Tho. Marsh, and Ew. Sherburne, [ (fn. 1) Ordered, They] shall be enlarged from their present Restraint, but not to be restored to their Places.

Conference about an Answer to the Declaration from Scotland reported.

The Lord Kymbolton, Speaker, reported the Conference brought (fn. 1) from the House of Commons by Mr. Pym, being an Answer to the Declaration of the Kingdom of Scotland.

The Declaration was read, in hæc verba. (Here enter it.)

Also was read an Answer to the Scotts Declaration. Committed to these Lords following:

Committee to consider of the Answer.

Any Three to meet presently.

Lord General desires to take Leave of both Houses.

The Lord General signified to the House, "That he being to set forwards to Dunstable this Night, to perform the Commands of both Houses, he desired he might take his Leave of both Houses."

Message to the H. C. to acquaint them with it.

And a Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Dr. Aylett and Dr. Heath:

To let them know, that, the Lord General being this Day to begin his Journey, he desires to take his Leave of both Houses; therefore to desire a present Meeting, in the Painted Chamber, by a Committee of both Houses.

Committee for Safety to issue Warrants for Money for the Army.

Ordered, That the Committee for the Safety of the Kingdom, or any Three of them, shall have Power to issue out Warrants for Monies, upon all Occasions, for the Affairs of the Army.

Steward and Grey, Damages for false Imprisonment in Ireland.

The Lord Robarts reported the Cause of Mr. Steward: That he and James Grey, &c. [ (fn. 2) were sentenced] in The Castle Chamber, in Ireland, for not taking an Oath, contrary to Law, and no Colour of Law for it, and then imprisoned Eighteen Months: And, upon a full Hearing of the Cause on both Sides, the Opinion of the Committee is, That the said Mr. Steward shall have Five Hundred Pounds Damages paid him by the Defendants; and that James Grey shall have Four Hundred Pounds Damages."

Which Opinion of the Committee this House approved of, and Ordered the same accordingly.

Mr. Seaman recommended to be Rector of Alhallows, Bread-street.

Ordered, That Mr. Seaman shall be recommended to the Archbishop of Cant. to be Rector of the Parish of Allhollowaies, Bred-streat, in London, in the Place of Mr. Lauson, who is lately dead.

The Messengers return with this Answer:

Answer from the H. C.

That the House of Commons will give a present Meeting, in the Painted Chamber, as is desired.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference; which being ended, the House was resumed.

The Order sent down from this House to the House of Commons, and brought up from them with some Amendments, was read.

Ordered, That this House agrees with the House of Commons in this Order, with the Amendments.

Bell's Cause.

Ordered, That the Committee concerning Mr. Bell's Cause shall meet on Tuesday next, in the Afternoon.

Declaration to the Assembly of Scotland.

The Lord Wharton reported from the Committee, some Amendments in the Declaration to the Assembly of Scotland.

D°. to the Council there.

And likewise reported some Amendments in the Declaration to the Council of Scotland.

Ordered, That this House approves of the Alterations now read; and are to be sent down to the House of Commons, to desire their Consent thereto.

Message from the H. C. with a Declaration against Episcopal Government;

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Rob't Harley:

1. To desire Expedition in the Declaration against the Government of Bishops, formerly brought up from the House of Commons.

and with an Order to appoint Treasurers, &c. in Cambridge.

2. To desire Concurrence in an Order to appoint Treasurers and Commissaries in the County of Cambridge.

Col. Beeling to be released, on Condition of going to France.

Ordered, That Colonel Beeling, now a Prisoner in The Tower, shall be released, and delivered to the French Ambassador, who will carry him with him into France, and pass his Honour that he shall not return into Ireland during the Rebellion there.
