To meet upon Wednesday next, at Four of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Painted Chamber.

Message from the King requiring the Attendance of both Houses.

The Lord Keeper declared, That His Majesty had commanded him to let their Lordships know, it was His Pleasure their Lordships should attend upon Him, with the House of Commons, at Whitehall, this After noon, at One of the Clock.

Message from the House of Common concerning a Fast.

A Message sent from the House of Commons, by Mr. Secretary Windibancke, to desire their Lordships Spiritual and Temporal, in the Upper House assem bled, that they would be pleased to join with them in a Petition to His Majesty for a Fast, first one Day for both Houses, and afterwards another Day for the Kingdom in general; hoping that, upon their Humiliation, God will bless the Counsels and Labours of both Houses.

The Commons withdrew themselves; and the Lord Keeper propounded it to the Lords, who consented to join with them in the Petition; and, the Commons be ing presently called in, the Lord Keeper did deliver this Message, by the Direction of the Lords:

Answer.

That the Lords Spiritual and Temporal do assent readily and willingly to join with them, in Petition to His Majesty for a Fast; and for a Time, their Lordships will know the King's Pleasure.

Order.

Ordered, That the Lord Archbishop of Cant. and the Lord Chamberlun are to wait upon His Majesty, to know when their Lordships and the Commons shall wait upon Him about the Fast.

Convocation Days.

This Day the Lord Archbishop of Cant. reported the Business at the Grand Committee Yesterday, concerning the High Court of Parliament sitting upon Convocation Days, and, by Order of the Lords, to be entered as followeth :

"The ordinary Days for the Convocation of the Clergy to fit, are Wednesday and Friday; and their ordinary Hours are from Eight or Nine in the Morning to Eleven; but they may fit, as then Business leads them, upon any Day, or at any convenient Hour of the Day, so it be without Prejudice to this Honourable House; but this House is to be always free to fit, or not to fit, upon Convocation Days, as they see Cause; and the Lords Spiritual are ever, upon Tuesdays and Thursdays, to move by the Lord Keeper, whether this Honourable House will fit the Day following or not, that so they may dispose of themselves and their Affairs accordingly."

Order, concerning Dr Manwaring, Bp. of St David's.

Next was taken into Consideration the Business concerning Doctor Manwaring; and it was Ordered, That, upon Monday next, the Records be brought into the House, that the House may determine the Cause concerning Dr Manwaringe.

A Bishop s Submission for some unguarded Expressions in the Committee.

It was moved, That whereas a Bishop of the Grand Committee Yesterday let fall some Words that might reflect upon some Lords of the same Committee, That he may receive an Admonition from this Honourable House The Words were related in the House; and the Bishop said, He was heartily sorry for it; and so the House, upon that Acknowledgement, past it by.

The Committee for Petitions adjourned until this Afternoon, at Three of the Clock.
