Stanneries, Ditto. Dunrich arrested.
Complaint was made to the House, That Thomas Dudson, Deputy Marshal of The King's Bench, had arrested Edmond Dunrich, Servant to the Earl of Pem brooke, and Steward of the Stannery Court of Foymore, in Cornewall, and that the said Edmond Dunrich was detained Prisoner in The King's Bench, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament, and contrary to the Immunities belonging to the Stanneries, and confirmed by Parliament, by which a Tinner is freed from all Arrests by any Courts of Westm.
Ordered, The Prisoner (being arrested upon an Attachment) to be brought presently before the Lords, and Dudson who arrested him to be brought also, to answer his Contempt of the Privilege of Parliament, and a Warrant was signed by the Clerk, and delivered to the Serjeant accordingly; and it is referred to the Committee for Privileges to consider of the Immunities and Privileges belonging to the Stanneries.
Lady Connisby vers. Thomas Connisby.
The Petition of Dame Margarett Connisby, late Wife of Sir Francis Connisby, Knight, deceased, was read, complaining, That Thomas Connisby, Esquire, Brother of the said Sir Francis, had wilfully and obstinately broke an Order of this House, made the last Session of Parliament; the which Petition is referred to the Committee for Petitions.
Isander of Rhee, Petition.
The Petition of the Inhabitants of the Isle of Rhee, who, to the Number of Three Hundred, retired hither, in the late English Fleet, for Protection, and remain in Plymouth and Southampton, was read; shewing, That whereas His Majesty was pleased to grant them a General Collection, for their Relief, through England, whereof Five Hundred Ninety Pounds, Seventeen Shillings, and Three Pence, is paid and distributed amongst them; but they do understand, that a far greater Sum is collected in divers Dioceses, who yet have not paid in the same, wherefore they pray the Lords to give Order to the Ecclesiastical Officers, that the same may be paid in to the Bishop of London's Officers; which is referred to the Committee for Petitions, to be settled by their Lordships.
Apparel Bill.
The Lord Archbishop of Yorke reported the Bill of Apparel fit to pass, with some Amendments, which were presently Twice read, and allowed of, and the Bill Ordered to be ingrossed.
Foreign Nobility.
The Earl Marshal returned the Petition of the Lords concerning Foreign Nobility, with the Reasons to be annexed, which were read 1a et 2a vice, put to the Question, and generally Assented unto by all, except the Earl of Denbigh.
The Lord Great Chamberlain, and the Lord Cham berlain of His Majesty's House, are appointed to attend His Majesty some Time To morrow, to know when His Majesty will be pleased that the said Petition shall be delivered unto Him by the whole House.
E. of Oxford.
The Earl Marshal, the Earl of Bristoll, the Earl of Clare, and the Lord Viscount Say, are to draw a Petition unto His Majesty, from the whole House, to desire His Majesty to be pleased to add some Maintenance to the Supportation of the Earldom of Oxon; for which the Earl of Oxon. rendered their Lordships most hearty Thanks.
Farnefeild Church burnt.
The Petition of the Inhabitants of Farnesfeild, in the County of Nottingham, was read, shewing, That their Parish Church was burnt by a skarth Fire happening in their Town, and Six Dwelling Houses, with all then Goods, consumed by the said Fire; and desiring their Lordships Charity for the re-edifying of the said Church, and for the Relief of the Petitioners, which is referred to the Lord Keeper, to grant a Brief for a Collection, with a Recommendation from the House in respect of the Church.
To prevent the Decayos Churches, and for Support of Curates.
These Lords undernamed are appointed to draw One Bill, to prevent the Decay of Churches, Chancels, and Chapels; and to draw One other Bill for sufficient Stipends to be allowed unto Curates, as well unto Curates who serve in Churches appropriated, as in other Churches.
