PRAYERS.

Sir David Fowlis's Cause.

Ordered, That Sir David Fowlis's Cause be heard on Friday next, in the Afternoon.

Sir Walter Norton's Cause.

Lords Committees appointed by the House to hear the Cause concerning Sir Walter Norton, and to report the same to the House: videlicet,

Their Lordships, or any Five or more of them, to meet on Monday next, in the Afternoon; and have Power from this House to adjourn themselves from Time to Time, as they shall see Cause.

Bembrick makes his Submission.

Phillip Bembricke was brought to the Bar, and made his Submission and Confession here, according to a former Order of this House, and afterwards was carried to the Courts in Westm. Hall, to do the like there.

Clerks of the Common Pleas.

Ordered, That the Cause concerning the Clerks of the Common Pleas shall be heard openly in this House, at the Bar, on Tuesday come Sevennight, being the 8th Day of June next; at which Time all the Parties and Patentees interested therein are to be present.

L. Audley versus L. Cottington.

The Cause between the Lord Awdley and the Lord Cottington, concerning the Manor of Founthill, was begun to be heard by Counsel on both Sides; and some important Business intervening, the Counsel withdrew; and it was Ordered, at the Request of the Lord Awdeleye, That, in regard of the great Affairs now in Agitation, and of the great Charge his Lordship is at, this Cause shall stand sine die until the urgent Business now in Hand be dispatched.

Cessation of Arms with the Scots, agreed on for Fourteen Days.

The Earl of Bristoll signified to the House, "That the Cessation of Arms with the Scotts was near expired." Hereupon it was Ordered, That this House doth approve and assent to the Cessation of Arms with the Scotts for Fourteen Days longer, beginning from the 30th Day of this Instant May, upon the same Terms as formerly, if the Treaty last so long.

Cassier, et al. Naturalization.

Ordered, That the Committee to consider of the Bill for Naturalizing Jo. Cassier and others, do meet on Saturday Morning next, at Eight a Clock.

Bishop versus Tucker.

Ordered, That the Cause between Jo. Bishop and Mr. Tucker shall be heard openly in this House, at the Bar, on Monday Morning next, the First Cause.

The Earl of Bristoll is to make his Report this Afternoon.

Ordered, That this House sits this Afternoon.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Edward Leech and Dr. Bennett:

To let them know, that their Lordships will sit this Afternoon, and to desire them to do the like.

Sutton-Marsh.

Ordered, That the Cause concerning Sutton-Marsh be heard on Tuesday next, in the Morning, at which Time all Parties to attend, according to former Orders of this House.

Order to quiet His Majesty's Possession of Lands on Hounslow-Heath.

It is Ordered, &c. That Sir Edward Spencer, Sir Richard Wynne, Sir John Hipsely, Sir Francis Darcy, and Auditor Povey, Justices of the County of Midd. shall, by Virtue of this Order, quiet, or cause to be quieted, His Majesty's Possession in the late inclosed Grounds upon Hounslowe-Heath, adjoining to The Neather Lodges upon the said Heath; and that special Enquiry and Search be made, in and about the several Towns and Hamlets near adjoining, for all such tumultuous Persons as have, in a very riotous Manner, endeavoured the disquieting of the said Possession, by pulling down of the Pales of the said Inclosures; and the Persons so found and taken to be apprehended, and brought unto this House forthwith; to which Service the said Justices of Peace are hereby enabled to call the Lord Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants of the said County, if they shall see Cause; and lastly, it is their Lordships Pleasure, That a Return of this Order be made into this House, with all possible Speed; and hereof special Care is to be taken.

Order about restoring Shipmoney in Cheshire.

Ordered, That Tho. Stanley, Esquire, and Richard Brewerton, Esquire, be added to Sir Richard Willbraham, and Sir George Booth, formerly appointed by this House to take the Account of the Sheriff of Cheshire, what Money he received last Year for Ship-money, and to see it restored to those particular Persons of whom it was received.

Sir James Thynne's Petition.

Ordered, That the Petition of Sir James Thynne shall be heard before the Lords Commitees for Petitions, on Tuesday come Three Weeks.

Ordered, That the Cause between the Lord Awdley and the Lord Cottington shall be heard on the Tuesday next after the Term.

Treaty with the Scots.

The Earl of Bristoll acquainted the House with the Scotts Commissioners Paper, touching reciprocal Supply of Men and Arms, upon Invasion of either Kingdom, dated 10th of April 1641.

And likewise presented to the House the Scotts Commissioners Proposition for hastening their Dispatch, and the Votes which the House of Commons have resolved touching the Conclusion of the Treaty between us and the Scots; which being read, it is Ordered, That the Lords Commissioners shall have Power from this House, to propound and communicate to the select Committee of the House of Commons the aforesaid Particulars, and to draw Matters to a Conclusion, and then to report the same to this House.

Hereupon a Message was sent to the House of Commons, by the Master of the Rolls and Sir Edward Leech:

Message to the H. C. for a Conference on this.

To let them know, that the Lords Commissioners have met with the Scotts Commissioners, and are now ready to meet with their select Committee, presently, in the Painted Chamber.

Answer returned was:

That the select Committee of the Commons is in the Painted Chamber already.

Sir Robert Hamilton's Counsel.

Ordered, That Mr. Aske and Gordon shall be assigned to be of Counsel with Sir Robert Hambleton.

After this, the select Committee of Lords went to meet with the Committee of the House of Commons.

Petitions of the Merchants for discovering new Trades.

Upon reading the Petition of the Fellowship of English Merchants, for Discovery of new Trades; it is Ordered, That the Petitioners, and the Parties that are petitioned against, shall attend the Lords Committees for Petitions on Tuesday next, in the Afternoon; and their Lordships are to settle and compose the Differences between them.
