PRAYERS.
Sawyer versus James.
The Lord Keeper signified to the House, That he had acquainted His Majesty with the Order which their Lordships made Yesterday, concerning Mrs. James and Sir Edm. Sawyer, Baronet; and His Majesty is pleased, that he be left to the Liberty of the Law, notwithstanding his Protection, or the Privilege which he can claim, as an Officer in the Exchequer, and further his Lordship said, That Sir Edm. Sawyer was with him, and told him this Morning, that, if Mrs. James would assign over the Judgement, he will pay her the Money due thereupon speedily.
Message from the H C. touching the Conference about the Treaty with the Scots.
A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Secretary Vane, to this Effect videlicet,
That the House of Commons having received a Message from their Lordships Yesterday, concerning a Conference, with a Committee of both Houses, about the weighty Business of both Kingdoms, he is commanded to let their Lordships know, that the House of Commons are ready to meet, with a Committee of both Houses, presently, in the Painted Chamber, if it stand with their Conveniency.
The Scottish Commissioners present Papers relative to the Abp. of Cant. and E Strafford.
The Earl of Bristoll acquainted the House, That the Scottish Commissioners have presented some Papers concerning the Lord Archbishop of Cant. and the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland; and moved, That in regard it was late, their Lordships, would dispense with the reading of them in the House; being they were to be read presently after, at the Conference with both Houses; which was consented unto, but not to be a Precedent hereafter.
The House return this Answer to the Message from the House of Commons:
Answer to the Message from the H. C.
That their Lordships will give a Meeting, with a Committee of both Houses, as is desired, within Half an Hour.
The Lord Commissioners withdrew, to prepare for the Conference.
Exchange between the Bp. of London and Sir Nicholas Crispe.
The Lord Privy Seal reported the Bill for the Exchange of some Lands in Fulham, between the Bishop of London Lord Treasurer, and Sir Nicholas Crispe, Knight. The Amendments being read Twice, and approved, it was Ordered, That the Bill should be ingrossed.
Conference.
The Lords went into the Painted Chamber, to the Conference; whereupon the House was adjourned, during Pleasure.
The House was resumed; some of the Lords returning into the House.
Afterwards the House was adjourned again, during Pleasure.
All the Lords returning from the Conference, the House was resumed again.

The Lord Keeper is to report the Effect of the Conference To-morrow Morning (fn. 1).
