DIE Mercurii, videlicet, 2 die Decembris.

PRAYERS.

Exchange between the Bp. of London and Sir Nicholas Crispe.

Hodie 1a (fn. 1) vice lecta est Billa, An Act concerning Exchange of Land, between the Right Honourable the Lord Bishop of London, Lord Treasurer, and Sir Nicholas Crispe, Knight, which Bill is to be new-drawn, being defective.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Sir Walter Earle, to this Effect.

Message from the H. C. touching some Witnesses to be examined in the E. of Strafford's Cause.

That they are ready, with a Committee, to present divers Witnesses, to be examined in the Cause concerning the Earl of Strafford; and this to be done with all Speed and Secrecy.

Answered:

Answer.

That the Lords are now in some serious Business; but will send an Answer, by Messengers of their own, with convenient Speed.

Lords to be deputed for taking their Examinations

Whether any of the Bishops should be nominated for this Business.

Hereupon the House thought fit to nominate some Lords for taking the preparatory Examination of Witnesses; and, because the Accusation of the House of Commons against the Earl of Strafford was for High Treason, there grew a Question, whether, in this Case, any of the Lords the Bishops should be named amongst the other Lords for the Examination of Wit nesses.

For the Debate of this, the House was adjourned into a Committee.

The Bishops to consider of it.

And the House being resumed, it was thought fit that the Lords the Bishops should have Time to consider hereof against To morrow Morning.

Afterwards,

Adjourn.

Dominus Custos Magni Sigilli declaravit præsens Parliamentum continuandum esse usquein diem Jovis, videlicet, 3m diem instantis Decembris, hora nona, Dominis sic decernentibus.
