Rochied against Kinloch et al.
After hearing Counsel as well on Thursday and Friday last as this Day, upon the Petition and Appeal of James Rochied of Inverleith, in the County of Edinburgh, and Darnchester, in the County of Berwick, in Scotland, Esquire; complaining of Two Interlocutors of the Lords of Session in Scotland, of the 2d of August 1788, and 13th of February 1789; and praying, "That the same might be reversed, varied, or altered, or that the Appellant might have such other Relief in the Premises, as to this House, in their Lordships great Wisdom, should seem meet;" as also, upon the Answer of David Kinloch of Gilmerton Baronet, and of Francis Kinloch, Archibald Kinloch Gordon, David Kinloch, Alexander Kinloch, and John Kinloch Esquires, and others, put in to the said Appeal, and due Consideration had of what was offered on either Side in this Cause:
Interlocutors reversed.
It is Ordered and Adjudged by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Interlocutors complained of in the said Appeal be and the same are hereby reversed; and it is hereby declared and adjudged, That the Settlement of the Half of the Estate of Inverleith and Darnchester, belonging to Elizabeth Rochied, does not contain a sufficient Tailzie to fulfil the Condition imposed by the Settlement of Dame Mary Kinloch of her One-fourth of the said Estate, and consequently, the Pursuer is entitled to hold, possess, and enjoy the said One-fourth Part of the Lands and Barony of Inverleith and Darnchester Teinds, and others, contained in the said Deed of Settlement, and that in Fee Simple, as Heir Male of the deceased Alexander Rochied his Father, and Heir of Provision of the said deceased Dame Mary Kinloch his Grandmother, without being subject or liable to any of the Conditions, Provisions, Restrictions and Clauses, prohibitive, irritant, and resolutive, contained in the said Deed of Settlement executed by the said Dame Mary Kinloch.

After hearing Counsel in Part in the Cause wherein the Lord Provost, Magistrates, and Counsel of the City of Edinburgh, and George McQueen are Appellants, and the Honourable Henry Erskine and others are Respondents:
It is Ordered, That the further hearing of the said Cause be put off till To-morrow.
Proceedings on East India Judicature Act.
The Lord Chancellor acquainted the House, "That the Clerk Assistant had prepared and laid on the Table, A List of the Names of all the Lords who have delivered in Lists in pursuance of the Directions of an Act passed in the 26th Year of His present Majesty, for the further Regulation of the Trial of Persons accused of certain Offences committed in the East Indies, and for other Purposes therein mentioned."
American Trade Bill.
The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act to amend Two Acts made in the Twenty-eighth Year of the Reign of His present Majesty, the one intituled, "An Act for regulating the Trade between the Subjects of His Majesty's Colonies and Plantations in North America, and in the West India Islands, and the Countries belonging to the United States of America and between His Majesty's said Subjects, and the Foreign Islands in the West Indies;" and the other, intituled, "An Act to allow the Importation of Rum or other Spirits from His Majesty's Colonies or Plantations in the West Indies, into the Province of Quebec, without Payment of Duty under certain Conditions and Restrictions."
After some Time, the House was resumed:
And the Lord Cathcart reported from the Committee, "That they had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."
Scotch Terms Bill.
The Order of the Day being read for the House to be put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for altering the Time appointed for holding the Summer Session in the Court of Session in Scotland, and for altering Whitsuntide and Lammas Terms in the Court of Exchequer in Scotland."
Ordered, That the House be put into a Committee upon the said Bill To-morrow.
Laurie's Petition referred to Judges.
Upon reading the Petition of Mrs. Margaret Laurie, of Redcastle, Widow of Andrew Sloan Laurie, of Redcastle, praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for the Purposes in the said Petition mentioned:

Laing against Watson and Mollison.
Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Patrick Laing, Tanner and Burgess of Brechin; complaining of an Interlocutor of the Lords of Session in Scotland of the 2d of March 1790; and praying, "That the same in so far as it decerns for the Sum of One hundred and twenty Pounds Sterling, only of Damages and Expences, including Agent Fee, may be reversed, varied, or altered, or that the Appellant may have such other Relief in the Premises, as to this House, in their Lordships great Wisdom, shall seem meet; and that James Watson, Merchant and Weaver in Brechin, and Thomas Mollison, eldest Son and Heir of John Mollison, deceased, late Provost of Brechin, may be required to answer the said Appeal:"
It is Ordered, That the said James Watson and Thomas Mollison may have a Copy of the said Appeal, and do put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto in Writing, on or before Monday the 19th Day of April next; and Service of this Order upon the said Respondents, or upon any of their known Counsel or Agents in the Court of Session in Scotland, shall be deemed good Service.
His Majesty's Advocate against Milne, in Error.
A Petition of the Advocate General of Scotland, Plaintiff, in a Writ of Error depending in this House, to which John Milne is Defendant, was presented and read; setting forth, "That this Cause came on to be heard ex-parte in the last Session of Parliament, when their Lordships were pleased to put off the further Hearing to the present Session, and to signify that it might be proper for the Judges to attend: That no Appearance having been yet made for the Defendant in Error, the Plaintiff is desirous, that this Cause be put off till after all the Causes appointed;" and therefore praying their Lordships, "To put off the Hearing of this Cause till after all the Causes already appointed."
And thereupon the Agent for the Petitioner was called in, and heard at the Bar; and being withdrawn,
Ordered, That the Hearing of the said Cause be put off till after all the Causes already appointed.
Hamilton and Co. against Allans et al:
Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Messieurs Hamilton, Garden, and Company, Merchants in Edinburgh; complaining of Two Interlocutors of the Lord Ordinary in Scotland, of the 10th of August 1789, and 28th of January 1790; also, of an Interlocutor of the Lords of Session there, of the 18th of February 1790; and also of another Interlocutor of the said Lord Ordinary of the 6th of March 1790; and praying, "That the same may be reversed, varied, or amended, or that the Appellants may have such Relief in the Premises, as to this House, in their Lordships great Wisdom, shall seem meet; and that Messieurs Allan and Gow, Hosiers in Glasgow, Alexander Allen and Archibald Newbigging, Merchants there, and Hugh Moodie, Merchant in Greenock, may be required to answer the said Appeal:"

Slave Trade, Leave given Ld. Rodney to attend Committee of H. C.
The Lord Scarsdale acquainted the House, "That he was desired by the Lord Rodney to request the Leave of the House to attend the Select Committee of the House of Commons appointed for the Purpose of taking the Examination of such Witnesses as shall be produced on the Part of the several Petitioners who have petitioned the House of Commons against the Abolition of the Slave Trade, to inform them of any Circumstances which may have come to his Knowledge, touching the said Trade:"
Whereupon it was moved, "That the Lord Rodney (agreeable to his said Request) be permitted to attend the Select Committee of the House of Commons appointed for the Purpose of taking the Examination of such Witnesses as shall be produced on the Part of the several Petitioners who have petitioned the House of Commons against the Abolition of the Slave Trade, to inform them of any Circumstances which may have come to his Knowledge touching the said Trade, if he thinks fit."

The Lord Cathcart reported from the Lords Committees, appointed to consider of the Titles of the Lords, that have appeared upon Ten or more Lists, reported from the Committee on Wednesday last, and to report the Names of those who shall appear to hold, or to have held any of the Offices or Employments specified in an Act made in the 26th Year of His present Majesty, "For the further Regulation of the Trial of Persons accused of certain Offences committed in the East Indies, and for other Purposes therein mentioned:" "That the Committee had met, and considered the Matter to them referred, had taken the above-mentioned Act into Consideration, and having carefully examined the said Titles, had come to the following Resolution:
