Barlow's Bill.
The Lord Scarsdale reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting Part of the Estates in the Town and County of Southampton, devised by the Will of Benjamin Barlow deceased, in Trustees to be sold; and for laying out the Purchase Money in another Estate, to be settled in Lieu thereof to the same Uses," was committed: That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents to the Satisfaction of the Committee, and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."
Ordered, That the said Bill be engrossed.
Methley Enclosure Bill.
The Lord Scarsdale made the like Report from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for dividing and enclosing the Commons, Common Fields, Wastes and other Commonable Lands and Grounds, within the Manor and Parish of Methley in the County of York," was committed.
Moor Monkton Enclosure Bill.
The Lord Scarsdale also reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for dividing and enclosing a Common, and certain other Open Grounds, in the Township and Parish of Moor Monkton, in the County of the City of York," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents to the Satisfaction of the Committee; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and made some Amendments thereto."

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for regulating the Time of the Imprisonment of Debtors, imprisoned by Process from Courts instituted for the Recovery of Small Debts; for abolishing the Fees of Gaolers and others, in the Cases of such Imprisonment; and for ascertaining the Qualifications of the Commissioners;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
The said Bill was read the First Time.

Godstone Road Bill.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Medley and others:
With a Bill, intituled, "An Act to enlarge the Term and Powers of Two Acts, made in the Fourth Year of the Reign of King George the Second, and the Sixth Year of the Reign of His present Majesty, for repairing the Road from Godstone in the County of Surrey, to Highgate in the Parish of East Grinstead in the County of Sussex;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
The said Bill was read the First Time.
Petition of Debtors in King's Bench Prison, praying Relief.
Upon reading the Petition of the Debtors consined in the King's Bench Prison, in Behalf of themselves and several Thousand Debtors and Fugitives, either pining in Gaols at Home, or wandering in Exile Abroad, whose Names are thereunto subscribed, praying their Lordships, for the Reasons therein mentioned, "To interpose their Legislative Authority, to shield them from the Vengeance of their vindictive Creditors, who inhumanly consine and banish their unfortunate Debtors, without a Prospect of Benefit to themselves, and to the Destruction of the Petitioners and their Families, trusting that the Horrors of the long Consinement of their Lordships' Petitioners, the Cries of their Wives and Children, will draw forth their Mercy and effect their Prayer:"
It is Ordered, That the said Petition do lie on the Table.
Ld. Stourton's Estate Bill.
Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for enabling the Right Honourable Charles Philip Lord Stourton, and the Right Honourable Mary Lady Stourton his Wife, the Right Honourable Hugh Lord Clifford and the Right Honourable Appollonia Lady Clifford his Wife, and Robert Butler Esquire and the Honourable Elizabeth Butler his Wife, to charge their Estates at Holme in the East Riding of the County of York, with a competent Sum of Money, for the Purpose of improving the same, and also to grant Building and other Leases of the said Estates, and of their other Estates in the Counties of York and Stafford."

East India Regulation Bill, Petition of Inhabitants of Fort Saint George respecting.
Upon reading the Petition of the British Inhabitants of the Presidency of Fort Saint George in the East Indies, and its Dependencies, whose Names are thereunto subscribed, complaining of certain Clauses in an Act of Parliament passed in the 24th Year of His present Majesty, intituled, "An Act for the better Regulation and Management of the Affairs of the East India Company, and for establishing a Court of Judicature for the more speedy and effectual Trial of Persons accused of Offences committed in the East Indies, by which their Persons and Properties are subject to much Vexation, Inconvenience, and Distress;" and praying their Lordships, as Hereditary Guardians of the Rights and Liberties of all British Subjects, "To vote a Repeal of those Clauses in the said Act of Parliament, which have given such just Cause of Uneasiness and Alarm to the Petitioners, and that their Lordships will be pleased to grant such further and general Relief in the Premises, as to their Lordships shall seem meet:"

E. Cork et al. Petition to receive Judges' Report:
Upon reading the Petition of the Right Honourable Edmund Earl of Cork and Orrery in the Kingdom of Ireland, and Baron Boyle of Marston in the County of Somerset, and others; setting forth, "That the Petitioners have lately presented a Petition to their Lordships for Leave to bring in a private Bill, and that their Lordships have been pleased to refer the said Petition to two Judges; that unfortunately for the Petitioner the said Earl of Cork, the Reverend Mr. Clark one other of the Petitioners whose Attendance before the Judges was necessary, did not arrive in Town till Thursday the 27th Day of April last, whereby the Petitioners were prevented from getting the Report upon their said Petition from the Judges within the Time limited by their Lordships' Order; that the Judges, to whom the said Petition was referred, have, in pursuance of their Lordships' Order, made their Report, and have signed the Bill;" and therefore praying, "That, under the special Circumstances above set forth, their Lordships will please to permit the Judges' Report to be received, though out of Time:"

Stourbridge Canal Bill.
The Order of the Day being read, for the further Consideration of the Bill, intituled, " An Act for making and maintaining a Navigable Canal from the Stourbridge Canal Navigation to the River Severn near to the City of Worcester, and for varying certain Rates or Dues, granted to the Company of Proprietors of the Stourbridge Canal Navigation; and for removing Shoals in the River Severn, between the Cities of Worcester and Gloucester, and for other Purposes therein mentioned;" and for hearing Counsel for and against the same:
Counsel were accordingly called in.
And William Jessop, George Young, William Wheler, Aaron York, and Mathew Free were, severally, called in, sworn, and examined for the Petitioners against the said Bill.
Then Mr. Pigot was heard for the Petitioners against the said Bill.
Then Mr. Erskine was heard in Support of the said Bill.
The Counsel were directed to withdraw.
Ordered, That the further Consideration of the said Bill be put off till To-morrow, and that the Counsel be called in at Half past Two o'Clock.
Foley for Leave to present a Petition for a Divorce Bill:
Upon reading the Petition of the Honourable Edward Foley; setting forth, "That the Petitioner having obtained a Verdict at Law with £2,500 Damages, against the Earl of Peterborough and Monmouth, for criminal Conversation and Adultery with Lady Ann Foley, his Wife, the Petitioner instituted a Suit in the Consistory Court of the Bishop of London against the said Lady Ann, for a Divorce from Bed, Board, and mutual Cohabitation, and on the 6th of this instant May obtained a Sentence in the said Court: That the Petitioner proposed to apply to Parliament for a Bill to dissolve his Marriage, and should he be deprived of the Benefit of this Session, he not being able to make an earlier Application, would be greatly injured;" and therefore praying their Lordships, " That Leave may be given to present a Petition for the above Purpose, though the Time limited for receiving Petitions for private Bills is expired:"
It is Ordered, That the Petitioner be at Liberty to present his said Petition, as desired.
Leave for a Divorce Bill.
Accordingly, Upon reading the Petition of the Honourable Edward Foley, praying Leave to bring in a Bill, " To dissolve his Marriage, and for vacating a Settlement made upon Lady Ann Foley in the Petition mentioned, and making her such Provision in Lieu thereof as shall be deemed reasonable, and to give the Petitioner such other Relief, as to their Lordships shall seem meet:"
It is Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill according to the Prayer of the said Petition.
