3. An Act to restrain and prevent some Disorders, that are or may be in the Ministers of God's Word.

4. An Act concerning Citations issuing out of Ecclesiastical Courts.

5. An Act, That certain Clergymen shall not be Justices of the Peace.

Ordered, A Day to be appointed in the Beginning of the next Session of Parliament, for hearing the Petition of Anne Countess Dowager of Dorsett, for her Ladyship's Claim to the Names, Stiles, and Dignities of Clifford, Westmerland, and Vescy.

Ld. Percy's Precedency.

A Day is also to be appointed at the next Session, for the Lord Percye's Claim to his Place of Precedency.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, That certain Clergymen shall not be Justices of the Peace.

Privileged Persons arrested after the Parliament.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the better Explanation and enlarging of a former Act, made in the First Year of the Reign of King James, intituled, An Act for new Executions to be sued against any which shall hereafter be delivered out of Execution by Privilege of Parliament, and for discharging of them out of whose Custody such Persons shall be delivered.

Put to the Question, and generally Assented unto.

E. of Huntingdon versus Sir Henry Sherley.

The Earl of Huntingdon made a further Complaint against Sir Henry Sherly, Baronet, and that his Witnesses might be sent for to prove the same. Agreed.

E. of Lincoln's Privilege. Sir Henry Fines and Sir Francis Smith sent for.

Ordered, Sir Henry Fines, Knight, and Francis Smith to be sent for, to answer their Contempt of the Privileges of this House against the Earl of Lincoln.

Memorandum, This Complaint was for entering, 27 Aprilis last, into a Ground of the Earl of Lincoln's, called The Quins, in West Laughton, and sealing a Lease thereof to Francis Smith, who arrested Roberte Blacke, Shepherd to John Wyncupp, Tenant of the said Ground, for entering thereon.

Petition of Right.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Committee for Accommodation, etc. withdrew to consider thereof.

Report from the Committee of a Declaration by the Lords to the King, that they mean not to lessen His Prerogative.

Being returned, and the House resumed; the Lord President reported, That the said Committee had agreed on a Declaration, which his Lordship read: videlicet,

"May it please Your most Excellent Majesty, we the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, in Your High Court of Parliament assembled, do humbly and unanimously declare unto Your Majesty, That our Intention is not to lessen or impeach any Thing, which, by the Oath of Supremacy, we have sworn to assist and defend."

This was read 1a, 2a, et 3a vice. Put to the Question, and generally Assented unto, nemine dissentiente.

It was also generally and unanimously Assented unto, upon the Question, by all the Lords, to join in the Petition of Right, sent up from the House of Commons, with the Two Alterations by both Houses agreed on.

The Alterations in the Petition.

Memorandum, Those Two Alterations were these: videlicet, ["Pretext"] was changed unto ["Means"], and ["unlawful Oath"] unto ["an Oath not warrantable by the Laws and Statutes of the Land"].

Message to the Commons, by

Message to the Commons, for Conference.

That the Lords desire a present Conference, between a Committee of both Houses, in the Painted Chamber.

Conference reported.

The House being adjourned during Pleasure, the Lords went to the Conference; and, the House being resumed at their Return, the Lord Keeper reported, "That, at this Conference, his Lordship declared (as he was directed by the House) unto the Commons, That the Lords have all unanimously agreed, by the Vote of this House, unto the said Petition of Right, with the Two Alterations aforesaid, the which Alterations were read as aforesaid.

Power of Lieutenants at Musters.

"And that his Lordship had also, according to the Direction of the House, moved the Commons to prepare a Bill to pass an Act, touching the Power of Lieutenants at Musters."

Duke of Bucks sent to know His Majesty's Pleasure, concerning the Time of delivering the House's Declaration.

The Duke of Buckingham was sent unto His Majesty, to know when His Majesty will be pleased to admit this House to deliver this Declaration unto Him.

Answer.

His Grace returned with this Answer, That this was so welcome to His Majesty, that He hath appointed the Lords to come presently.

Raleigh's Restitution in Blood.

The Lord President reported, That the Committee had again considered of Carewe Raleigh's Restitution, and thought fit to add a Proviso to the same, for the Earl of Corke, and for His Majesty.

The Proviso was read 1a et 2a vice. To be ingrossed.
