L. Conway introduced.

HODIE Edwardus Baro Conway de Ragley was brought into the House, in his Parliament Robes, between the Lords Delawarr and Newnam Paddocks, Garter going before; and delivered his Writ, kneeling, to the Lord Keeper; which being read by the Clerk, the said Lord Conway was placed between the Places of the Lord Roberts of Truro and the Lord Vere of Tilbery.

Message to the Commons, concerning the Liberty of the Subject.

That the Lords are upon Debate of the great Business concerning the Liberties of the Subject, sent up to them from that House, and they do suppose that they shall have Occasion to send unto them; wherefore the Lords desire them to sit a convenient Time; and, if their Lordships shall not be ready to send unto them as they desire them, they shall have Word thereof.

Report from the Committee.

The Lord Archbishop of Cant. reported what the said Committee had agreed on to be delivered by his Grace, at this Conference with the Commons: videlicet,

"That the Lords do concur with them in their Desire of the just Liberties of the Subject; and they do find it fit and necessary to preserve the just Prerogative of the King also. And, to the End that both Houses may agree therein, they have desired this Conference, as the just Prerogative of the King, and the due Freedoms of the Subject may be both jointly preserved."

His Grace is to deliver this in his own Words.

Message to the House of Commons, by

The Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, and Mr. Justice Yelverton:

Message to the H. C. for a Conference touching the Liberty of the Subject.

That the great Business sent up from them, concerning the Liberties of the Subject, hath been debated here; and some Things fall into their Lordships Consideration, which their Lordships desire to acquaint them with; and have therefore appointed a Committee of Eighteen, for a Conference with them herein, and desire them to appoint a proportionable Number of their House for the same. To meet presently, in the Painted Chamber.

They will meet presently, at the Place appointed, with the Number desired.

The Lords having Notice that the Commons were come; the House was again adjourned, during Pleasure; and the said Committee went to the Conference.

Report of the Conference.

The Committee being returned; the Lord Archbishop of Cant. reported what was said unto the Commons, in Effect as before agreed on.

Unto which the Committee of the Commons answered, That they would report the same to their House, and return their Lordships an Answer so soon as they may; which they hoped they should do To-morrow Morning.

Adjourn.
