New River Company's Bill.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Confirmation of certain Letters Patents, made by the late King of Famous Memory, King James, to the Governor and Company of the New River, brought from Chadwell and Amwell, to London; and for granting of Liberties (fn. 1) to the said Governor and Company.

Put to the Question, and Rejected.

But it was generally Agreed, That the said Governor may exhibit a new Bill, if he please, this Session, notwithstanding this formerly exhibited and rejected.

L. Willoughby versus E. of Oxford, concerning the Earldom of Oxford.

This Day the Counsel Learned of the Competitors of the Earldom of Oxford were heard at the Bar; and the House made this Order: videlicet,

"Upon the Hearing of the Counsel on both Sides for the Competition of the Earldom of Oxford, the Baronies of Bulbccke, Sandford, and Badlesmere, and the Office of Great Chamberlain of England; it is Ordered, That the Judges shall consider of the Title of each Party unto the said Earldom, and whether the Intail of the said Earldom in Parliament, Anno 16° R. H, be an Act of Parliament or no; and also of the Title of the said Baronies, and Office of Great Chamberlain; and to report their Opinions to the House on Monday, the 20th Day of this Instant March."

Forgery of the E. of Huntingdon's Protections.

It is this Day Ordered, That George Gardner and George Buttrice shall be brought to the Bar on Monday next, to answer their Contempt, for counterfeiting Protections, under the Hand and Seal of the Earl of Huntingdon.
