Coles Yeoman of the Guards Privilege.

SWETENHAM, the Bailiff of Westm. and his Under-bailiff, were brought to the Bar, for attaching the Goods of Augustine Coles (a Yeoman of the Guard), contrary to the Privileges of Parliament:

Who pleased Ignorance, that he knew not that the Privileges extended unto Goods; and that the Warrant was brought unto him to attach the Goods of Augustine Coles, Bricklayer.

Michaell Harrison, at whose Suit the Goods were attached, pleaded Ignorance also.

Goods restored.

Ordered, That the Goods be re-delivered unto Coles, saving unto Michaell Harrison his Execution after the Expiration of the Privileges.

And that the said Swetenham and the Under-bailiff, and the said Michaell Harrison, be discharged of all Contempts; but commanded to take better Notice of the Privileges hereafter.

The House was moved to give Thanks unto the Two Reverend and Learned Prelates, that preached at the Fast on Saturday last; which was done.

Apparel to be reformed.

And that, at the next Sessions, Lex Sumptuaria may be made, according to their Admonition given in their Sermons, to restrain the Excess of Riot and Apparel; and, in the mean Time, this House to be a Rule unto themselves therein.

The Care whereof is referred to the Committee for Privileges, &c.
