Hodie 1a et 2a vice lectæ sunt, The Amendments of the Bill concerning the Lands of Sir Henry James, Knight, convicted of a Præmunire; and a Proviso to be added to the Bill.

The Amendments were allowed of, and the Proviso ordered to be ingrossed.

Answer to the L. Treasurer's Petition, reported.

The Lord Say reported the Answer to be made unto the Lord Treasurer's Petition exhibited Yesterday, in hæc verba: videlicet,

"The Lord Treasurer, in his Petition of the First of May, explaining a Branch of a former Petition preferred by him to this House, whereby he desireth Copies of all Depositions taken concerning his Charge; which former Petition had been rejected by the House, as moved unseasonably, he not having then put in his Interrogatories, nor all the Witnesses for him nor against him fully examined:

"Now, all the Interrogatories being brought in, the House doth Order, That, according to the said Explanation of his Petition, when all Witnesses for him and against him shall be fully examined, and the House possessed of them, he may take such Copies of the said Depositions as he shall desire."

Message from the King for the House to attend him.

The Prince his Highness signified to the House, That His Majesty's Pleasure is, that the whole House wait on Him To-morrow, at Two, in the Banqueting-House at Whithall.

Whereupon this Message was sent to the Commons, by Mr. Serjeant Davis and Sir Charles Cæsar:

Message to the H. C. to further defer the Conference concerning Monopolies.

That the Lords are to attend His Majesty To-morrow, at Two, at Whithall; and that therefore their Desire is, that the Conference appointed to be at that Hour in the Painted Chamber, touching the Bill of Monopolies, be deferred 'till Four of the Clock the same Day, and in the same Place.

Answer.

Answered: That they will attend accordingly.

Reference from a Committee to the Judges, to be reported to them.

Agreed, That the ancient Order of the House is, "That, if the Committee refers any Thing to the Consideration of the Judges, the Judges are to make Report thereof to the Committee, and the Committee to the House." And this is commanded to be entered in the Journal Book.

Bill of Grace for Wales.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Repeal of One Branch of the Statute, made in the Session of Parliament holden by Prorogation at Westm. the Two and Twentieth Day of January, in the Four and Thirtieth Year of the Reign of King Henry the Eighth, intituled, An Act for certain Ordinances in the King's Majesty's Dominion and Principality of Wales.

And, being put to the Question, was generally Assented unto, and so Expedited.

Confirmation of a Judgement against Heron.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Confirmation of a Judgement for His Majesty, in a Scire facias against Henry Heron; and for Declaration of His Majesty's Letters Patents therein mentioned to be void.

Put to the Question, and generally Assented unto.

Manors of Stepney and Hackney.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Confirmation of the Copyhold Estates and Customs of divers Copyholders of the Manors of Stepney and Hackney, according to certain Indentures of Agreement, and a Decree in the High Court of Chancery, made between the Lord of the said Manors and the Copyholders.

Put to the Question, and generally Assented unto; and so Expedited.

Memorandum, This Bill was first reported by the Earl of Oxon, as fit to pass.

2a, An Act for the Maintenance and Increase of (fn. 1) Shipping and Navigation, and for the freer Liberty of Fishing and Fishing Voyages, to be made and performed in and upon the Seas, Sea-coasts, and Places of Newfoundland, Virginia, New-England, and other the Seas, Seacoasts, and Parts of America.

3a, An Act for the further Description of a Bankrupt; and Relief of Creditors against such as shall become Bankrupts; and for inflicting Corporal Punishment upon the Bankrupts, in some special Cases.

4a, An Act for Abbreviation and Limitation of Michaelmas Term.

5a, An Act concerning Hostlers or Inn-holders.

6a, An Act concerning the New-erecting and Ordering of Inns.

7a, An Act for the Repairing and Maintaining of the Haven, River, and Channel, coming to the Borough and Town of Collchester, in the County of Essex; and also for the Paving of the said Town.

8a, An Act to enable Martyne Callthorpe, Esquire, to make Sale of certain Lands, for Preferment of his younger Children, and Payment of his Debts.

9a, An Act for the enabling of the Sale of the Manor of Rampton, in the County of Cambridge, and of divers Lands and Tenements in Rampton, Willingham, and Cottenham, in the same County, now or late the Freehold or Inheritance of Edward Alcocke, Esquire.

10a, An Act to enable Vincent Lowe, of Denby, in the County of Derby, Esquire, to sell Part of his Lands, for the Payment of his Debts.

11a, An Act for the Naturalizing of David Stanniere, of London.

12a, An Act for confirming the Sale of certain Lands, sold by Sir Edward Heron, Knight, unto Bevell Mollesworth, Esquire, and enabling the said Edward Heron to make Sale of other Lands, for Payment of Debts.

Report of the Examination of the L. Treasurer's Witnesses.

The Lord Archibishop of Cant. reported to the House, That the Committees touching the Lord Treasurer's Business have now examined all those Witnesses whom his Lordship demanded to be examined; and moved their Lordships that now the Lord Treasurer might have Copies of the said Examinations; unto which the House agreed.

His Grace also propounded unto the House to take into their Consideration, That the Lord Treasurer doth now desire one John Evelyn to be examined also; and moved, That his Lordship's Request may be admitted, to take away all Exceptions against the Honour and Justice of the House: Whereunto their Lordships agreed, so as the said John Evelyn be examined upon those Articles only which are already exhibited by the Lord Treasurer, and so as his Lordship do cause the said John Evelyne to appear here To-morrow Morning, to be sworn and examined accordingly.

The Clerk signed an Order to this Effect; and delivered it to the Gentleman Usher, to be carried to the Lord Treasurer.

Limitation of Actions, &c. Ditto.

The Lord President reported the Bill of Limitation of Actions, &c. as fit to pass, with some Amendments and One Proviso; and that the Commons, at the Conference for the said Bill on Saturday last, were satisfied touching the said Amendments and Proviso.

Hodie 1a et 2a vice lectæ sunt, the said Amendments and Proviso.

The Amendments were allowed of, and the Proviso also, and Ordered to be ingrossed.

Adjourn.
