Rogers versus Ingram.

The Earl of Bridgwater reported, That the Lords Committees for Petitions had considered on a Petition exhibited by Grezell Rogers, Widow, against Sir Arthur Ingram, Knight, for many Wrongs done her, and vexatious Suits commenced against her, concerning her Lands in Heygrowe, in the County of Somersett; and delivered their Opinion touching Stay to be made of the Proceedings elsewhere, until the same might be determined here.

Ordered, That the Earl of Bridgwater and the Lord Russell shall hear and determine these Businesses, if they can, or certify their Opinion; and that all Proceedings in the mean Time in any other Court be stayed.

Anis's Petition.

Which Petition being thus read, was committed to the Sub-committee for Munitions, &c. the Lord Brooke being added thereunto.

And the said William Anis, being called in, was presently sworn, in open Court, to make true Answers unto all such Demands as should be asked him by the House, or by the said Sub-committee.

And it was Ordered, That Abraham Jacob, and all others whom the said William Anis shall name, be presently sent for, and sworn and examined in like Manner.

And the Persons undernamed were sent for, by the Serjeant at Arms, by special Commandment of the Court, and upon an Order signed by the Lord Keeper: videlicet,

Establishment of the E. of Oxford's Lands.

The Lord Archbishop of Cant. reported the Bill, intituled, An Act for the quiet establishing of the Right and Interest of certain Lands and Tenements of Henry now Earl of Oxon, and his Tenants, according to Two several Decrees in Chancery, and His Majesty's Royal Pleasure, signified under His Highness's Privy Seal exemplified, and One other Decree in His Majesty's Court of Wards and Liveries, as fit to pass, with some small Amendments; the which Amendments were presently Twice read; and the Bill Ordered to be ingrossed.

The Lord Chief Justice and Sir William Bird (one of the Masters of the Chancery) are this Day added to the Committee for the Bill, intituled, An Act concerning Probat of Suggestions, in Cases of Prohibition.

E. of Hertford to exchange Lands.

The Earl of Warwicke reported the Bill, intituled, An Act to enable William Earl of Hertford, and Sir Francis Seymor, Knight, Brother of the said Earl, to convey certain Lands, for the Payment of his Debts; and for establishing other Lands in Lieu thereof, and of better Value, as fit to pass, without any Amendments.

Message from the Commons, concerning Recusants.

Message from the Commons, by Sir Thomas Edmonds and others: That the Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses of the House of Commons, did heretofore present unto their Lordships a Petition against Jesuits, Seminary Priests, and Popish Recusants; the which was contracted and amended by their Lordships, and sithence read and allowed of by their House; and they do now return the said Petition unto their Lordships again, humbly desiring to know when and by whom their Lordships will attend His Majesty therewith.

Answer.

The Messengers being withdrawn; the said Petition was read, put to the Question, and Assented unto.

Then the Messengers being called in, they were answered: That their Lordships have considered of this Message; and that the Prince his Highness is pleased (at their Intreaty) to move His Majesty for a Time to be appointed by His Majesty for the Delivery of this Petition; and, when their Lordships understand His Majesty's Pleasure herein, they will signify the same unto them by Messengers of their own; and their Lordships think it fit that this Petition be delivered by the said Committee who first met about it, being Four and Twenty.

Message to the Commons, for Conference touching the Bill of Grace for Wales.

Message to the House of Commons, by Mr. Serjeant Davis and Mr Serjeant Finch, for a Conference with the Commons, for the accommodating the Bill of Grace for Wales, to meet with a Committee of Twelve of their Lordships To-morrow Morning, at Eight, in the Painted Chamber.

M. of Hamilton's Naturalization.

And the said Messengers carried down with them the Bill, intituled, An Act for the Naturalizing of James Marquis of Hamilton.

Answered: The Commons will attend accordingly.

Maintenance of Hospitals, &c.

The Lords Committees on the Bill for better Maintenance of Hospitals are to meet To-morrow, at Eight, in the Little Committee Chamber.

Brew-houses in and about London.

The Lords Committees on the Bill concerning Brewhouses in and about London and Westm. are to meet on Monday, the 19th of this April, at Eight, in the Painted Chamber.
