"JACOBUS, Dei Gratia, Angliæ, Scotiæ, Franciæ, et Hiberniæ, Rex, Fidei Defensor, &c. Præcharissimo Filio nostro Carolo Natu Secundo (fn. 1) Unico et Primogenito, Principi Walliæ, Duci Cornub. et Eborum, et Comiti Cestrie, Salutem.

"Quia, de Advisamento et Assensu Consilii Nostri, pro quibusdam arduis et urgentibus Negotiis, Nos, Statum et Defensionem Regni Nostri Angliæ et Ecclesiæ Anglicanæ concernentibus, quoddam Parliamentum Nostrum, apud Civitatem nostram Westm. decimo sexto die Januarii proxime futuro teneri ordinaverimus, et ibidem vobiscum, ac cum Prælatis, Magnatibus, et Proceribus, dicti Regni Nostri, Colloquium habere et Tractatum, vobis, in Fide et Ligeantia, quibus Nobis tenemini, firmiter injungendo mandamus, quod, consideratis dictorum Negotiorum Arduitate et Periculis imminentibus, cessante Excusatione quacunque, dictis die et loco, personaliter intersitis, Nobiscum, et cum Prælatis, Magnatibus, et Proceribus prædictis, super dictis Negotiis tractaturi, vestrumque Consilium impensuri.
