Lord Chief Baron,

To attend the Lords.

To meet on Friday Morning, at Eight of the Clock in the Morning, in the Painted Chamber.

Answer from the Commons.

Answer from the Lower House, That their former Committees will presently attend and meet their Lordships, in the Painted Chamber, as their Lordships required.

The Petition, of which the Prince his Highness Yesterday asked more privately with certain of His Majesty's Council, of certain Lords, Members of this House, was now humbly (fn. 1)

The Lords Committees of this House went into the Painted Chamber, unto the Committees of the Commons, where the Lord Chancellor (as upon their Return he declared to the House) delivered the Effect of His Majesty's Answer to the Petition made to His Majesty by both Houses; and this his Lordship informed the House that he did, by acquainting the said Committees of the Lower House with such Notes, as he had taken of His Majesty's Answer.

"Hereupon, said his Lordship, it was by Sir Edward Coke, one of the said Committees of the Lower House, desired, that, as that House had delivered in Writing their Suit and Petition, so the Committees of that House might from me receive the Memorial in Writing, which I took of His Majesty's Answer." His Lordship further declared, That to Sir Edward Coke's Motion he made Answer, "That, forasmuch as the Paper wherein he took the said Remembrances was small, and unfit to be publickly perused, that therefore his Lordship might have Time until To-morrow to perfect his said Notes." And now his Lordship desired to understand the Pleasure and Direction of the House therein. And, upon the Question, Agreed, That such Note or Writing, as was so desired as aforesaid, should be delivered.

Moved by the Lord Hunsdon, That the Original might remain with the Clerk of this House; which Motion received no Answer.
