THE Prince his Highness delivered unto the Clerk the King's Majesty's Commission for the Adjournment of the Parliament, which was read, in hæc verba:

"Cum Nos, pro quibusdam arduis et urgentibus Negotiis, Nos, Statum et Defensionem Regni Nostri Angliæ ac Ecclesiæ Anglicanæ concernentibus, præsens hoc Parliamentum Nostrum, apud Civitatem Nostram Westm. tricesimo die Januarii, Anno Regni Nostri Angliæ, Franciæ, et Hiberniæ Decimo octavo, et Scotiæ Quinquagesimo quarto, inchoari et teneri ordinaverimus; a quo die idem Parliamentum Nostrum tunc et ibidem tentum et continuatum fuerat usque ad et in quartum diem Junii tunc proxime sequentem; eodemque quarto die Junii idem Parliamentum Nostrum, ac omnes Causæ et Materiæ inceptæ, et adtunc non terminatæ, usque ad et in decimum quartum diem Novembris tunc proxime sequentem adjornatæ fuere; eodemque decimo quarto die Novembris idem Parliamentum Nostrum, ac omnes Causæ et Materiæ inceptæ, et adtunc non terminatæ, usque ad et in vicesimum diem Novembris ultimo præteritum adjornatæ fuere; eodemque vicesimo die abinde idem Parliamentum Nostrum ibidem tentum et continuatum fuerat usque instantem decimum nonum diem Decembris: Sciatis quod Nos, pro certis urgentibus Causis et Considerationibus Nos specialiter moventibus, idem præsens Parliamentum Nostrum, ac omnes Causas et Materias inceptas, et nondum terminatas, ut supra dictum est, ulterius adjornandas duximus. De Fidelitate igitur, Prudentia, et Circumspectione, vestris plurimum confidentes, de Avisamento et Assensu Concilii Nostri, assignavimus vos Commissionarios Nostros, dantes vobis, et aliquibus sex vel pluribus vestrum, tenore præsentium, plenam Potestatem et Auctoritatem, ad præsens hoc Parliamentum Nostrum, ac omnia Negotia, Causas, et Materias, in eodem Parliamento inceptas, et adhuc non terminatas, Nomine Nostro, ad et in octavum diem Februarii proxime futurum, usque prædictam Civitatem Nostram Westm. adjornandum et continuandum, ibidem tunc tenendum et prosequendum: Et ideo vobis mandamus, quod circa præmissa diligenter intendatis, ac ea in forma prædicta effectualiter expleatis. Damus autem universis et singulis Archiepiscopis, Marchionibus, Comitibus, Vicecomitibus, Episcopis, Baronibus, Militibus, et Burgensibus, ac omnibus aliis quorum interest ad dictum Parliamentum Nostrum conventuris, tenore præsentium, firmiter in Mandatis, quod vobis, in præmissis faciendis, agendis, et exequendis, pareant, obediant, et intendant, prout decet. In cujus Rei Testimonium, has Literas Nostras fieri secimus Patentes. Teste Meipso, apud Westm. decimo nono die Decembris, Anno Regni Nostri Angliæ, Franciæ, et Hiberniæ Decimo nono, et Scotiæ Quinquagesimo quinto.

Domini Commissionarii, virtute istius Commissionis, adjornaverunt præsens Parliamentum usque in dictum octavum diem Februarii proxime sequentem.
Commission sent to the H. C.
After which Adjournment, the said Commission was delivered to Mr. Justice Winch and Mr. Justice Jones; who were sent therewith to the Commons, and commanded to signify unto them, that the Parliament is adjourned, by the virtue thereof, by the Prince his Highness and the other Commissioners, unto the Eighth Day of February next.
Who returned Answer, That they signified the same to the Commons; and that the Commons answered, They will adjourn their House also unto the same Time.
