Killingworth Castle, &c. to the Prince.

HODIE 1a vice lecta est Billa, An Act to enable Dame Alice Dudley, Wife to Sir Robert Dudley, Knight, to assure her Estate in the Castle and Manor of Killingworth, and other Lands, in the County of Worwicke, for valuable Consideration, to the Prince his Highness and his Heirs.

Limitation of Suits in Law.

The Lord Treasurer reported the Bill for Limitation, and for avoiding of Suits in Law, and returned the same as fit for a Third Reading; the which was read the Third Time accordingly.

The Lord Haughton moved the House, That Ten Years more might be added to this Limitation; and denied; for that, by the Orders of the House, after the Third Reading, nothing can be altered, neither can the Bill then be re-committed; wherefore the Bill was put to the Question, and Assented unto by all, save the Lord Haughton.

Prisoners brought to the Bar for Counterseiting L. Stafford's Hand and Seal to Protections.

The Prisoners, which counterfeited the Lord Stafford's Hand and Seal unto Protections, were brought to the Bar: videlicet,

Thomas Warynges, Mathias Peare, and John Blunt.

And, for that Thomas Warynges denied the Counterfeiting thereof; affirming that he received Six Protections from the Lord Stafford, with Blanks, of one Mathew Watson; it is Ordered, That he the said Thomas Warynges shall remain Prisoner in The King's Bench, until he had put in good Security to appear here again on Monday come Fortnight, videlicet, the (fn. 1) 17th Day of December next, and then to bring in the said Mathew Watson; the Security to be taken by the Clerk.

And, for that the said Mathias Peare denied the Counterseiting of the said Protection; affirming that he received the same from one Denton, the which Protection was for himself; and that the said Denton received of him Three Shillings for the same; it is Ordered, That the said Mathias Pecre shall be acquitted, and set at Liberty.

John Blunt's Sentence.

The said John Blunt confessed, that he counterfeited the Lord Stafford's Seal, to One Protection only; whereupon it is Ordered, That he the said John Blunt shall, To-morrow Morning (being Wednesday, the 28th of this November), stand on the Pillory here at Westm. with Papers on his Head, shewing his Offence, and further Punishment; and also that he shall stand on the Pillory in Cheapesyde, on Saturday following, with like Papers on his Head; and then shall be carried to Bridewell, and there remain during his Life, and be kept to Work for his Living.

The Prisoners being withdrawn whist these were in Debate, they were afterwards called severally in, and Sentence pronounced by the Lord Keeper accordingly.

Serjeant at Arms to see this Sentence executed.

It was also Ordered, That the Serjeant at Arms attendant on this House shall, in his own Person, see this Sentence inflicted on the said John Eleunt accordingly; and shall be assisted therein by the King's Officers, as in such Case is usual.

Exportation of Money.

The Names of the Attendants on the Bill against Transportation of Money (which is to be sat on Tomorrow, at Two in the Afternoon) were read, and Ordered, That the Lord Chief Justice, the Lord Chief Baron, and Baron Denham, shall be spared their said Attendance; and Mr. Justice Winche and Mr. Justice Hutton to attend in their Rooms.

Act of Grace for Wales.

The Lord Privy Seal moved the House, That the Bill of Grace for Wales might be re-committed to the former Committees of the same.

Whereupon the Names of the said Committee were read; and these Lords were added thereunto: videlicet,

E. of Mountgomery.
E. of Bridgwater.
E. of Leicester.
E. of March.
L. Bp. of St. David's.
L. Bp. of Londaph.

Monopolies.

The Names of the Lords Committees on the Bill concerning Monopolies (which are to meet at Two this Afternoon) were read; and thereunto were added these Lords: videlicet,

L. Treasurer.
E. of Suffolke.
L. Bp. of Norwich.
L. Bp. of Exceter.
L. Carew.
L. Haughton.
L. Brooke.
L. Mountague.

Blunt's Paper on his Head.

Agreed, To be written in the Paper to be set on John Blunt's Head, as followeth: videlicet,

John Blunt, for having counterpeited the Seal of a Peer of this Realm to a Protection, being before-time convicted for notorious Offences of like Nature in other Courts, is, by the Lords of the Upper House assembled, besides this his publick Punishment, To be perpetually imprisoned in Bridewell, and There to be employed in Work for his Living.

Adjourn.

Dominus Custos Magni Sigilli declaravit præsens Parliamentum continuandum esse usque in diem crastinum, videlicet, 28m instantis Novembris, hora nona, Dominis sic decernentious.
