With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing the Roads from the Town of Leeds, through Harwood, to the South West Corner of the Enclosures of Harrogate, and from thence in Two Branches (one through Ripley over Burage Green, and the other through Knaresborough and Borough Bridge) to Ripon, and from thence to the First Rill of Water, or Watercourse, on Hutton Moor, in the County of York, and for repairing the Sloughs or Ruts on the said Moor," to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Scarborough Road, Bill

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Lord Downe and others.

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing and widening the Roads from the East End of Monk Bridge, near the Suburbs of the City of York, to New Malton; and from thence to Scarborough, in the North Riding of the County of York, and also from Spittle House, in the East Riding of the said County, to Scarborough aforesaid," to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Greenwich Hospital Contracts, Bill

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr Cleveland and others.

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act to render valid and effectual all Contracts and Agreements, which shall be made by the Commissioners or Governors of the Royal Hospital for Seamen at Greenwich, for the Purchase of Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, for the finishing and compleating the said Hospital, and for ascertaining the Recompense that shall be made for the same," to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The Four last mentioned Bills were read the First Time.

Barnesley's Bill

The Earl of Oxford reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Real Estate late of William Barnesley Esquire, deceased, in Trustees, for the Benefit of William Barnesley Esquire, his only Son and Heir, who is a Lunatick; and for raising Money, to pay the Costs of several Suits and Proceedings at Law and in Equity, brought for the Recovery of the said Estate," was re-committed "That they had re-considered the said Bill, and made some Amendments thereunto"

Which, being read Twice by the Clerk, were agreed to by the House.

Ordered, That the said Bill, with the Amendments, be engrossed.

Wytham Field, enclosing, Bill

The Lord Sandys reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for enclosing and dividing Wytham on the Hill In Field, in the County of Lincoln, and for settling a Stipend for the Vicar, in Lieu of Glebe and Tithes," was committed. That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true, that the Parties concerned had given their Consents, and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and made some Amendments thereunto"

Which, being read Twice by the Clerk, were agreed to by the House.

Ordered, That the said Bill, with the Amendments, be engrossed.

E of Donegall's Bill

The Earl of Warwick made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for enabling the Trustees of the Right Honourable Arthur Earl of Donegall, in the Kingdom of Ireland, to make Leases of the said Earl's Lands and Tenements, in and about the Town of Belfast, in the said Kingdom, for Three Lives, or Ninety-nine Years, of such other Leases or Grants as is therein mentioned, in order to promote and encourage the Re-building of the said Town," was committed.

And the same Order was made.

Counsel to be heard against it, at Third Reading

Upon reading the Petition of Sir Roger Newdigate Baronet, setting forth, "That he is Uncle and One of the Testamentary Guardians of Arthur and John Chuchester, Infants, and Nephews of the said Earl of Donegall, and Remainder Men in Tail, and apprehends, if the said last mentioned Bill should pass, it will be greatly prejudicial to the said Infants, and give unreasonable Powers to the Trustees, and confirm Acts of the said Earl, whom the Petitioner conceives not to be of a Capacity sufficient to govern himself or his Affairs, and against whom the Petitioner intends to apply for a Commission of Lunacy," and praying, "That he may be heard, by his Counsel, against the said Bill, at the Third Reading thereof"

It is Ordered, That the said Bill be read the Third Time on Friday next, and that the Petitioner may be then heard, by his Counsel, as desired, as may Counsel be heard also for the Bill, at the same Time.

Taunton Roads, Bill

The Earl of Egremont reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for amending the several Roads leading from the Town of Taunton, in the County of Somerset," was committed That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true, and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Selby Road, Bill.

The same Lord made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for explaining and amending so much of an Act passed in the Fourteenth Year of the Reign of His present Majesty, for the repairing and enlarging the Roads from the Town of Selby, in the West Riding of the County of York, to the Town of Leeds, and from thence in Two several Branches, one through Bradford and Horton, and the other through Bowling and Wibsey, to the Town of Halifax, in the same Riding, as relates to that Part of the said Roads which lies between Leeds and Halifax," was committed.

Bradford Road, Bill.

The Lord Ilchester made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for widening and repairing the Road from Combe Bridge, in the County of Somerset, to Bradford, in the County of Wilts, and from thence through Hilperton, and so far over Ashton Common as to join the Road which leads from Steeple Ashton to Trowbridge, and also the Road leading from Bradford aforesaid to Cock Hill Gate, in the said County of Wilts," was committed.

Wilts and Somerset Road, Bill

The same Lord made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing and widening the Roads from Tinhead Hill to The Round Stone in Trowbridge, and from Flinty Nap to Western Down, in the Parish of Edington, in the County of Wilts, and other Roads, in the Counties of Wilts and Somerset, leading towards the Cities of Bristol and Bath," was committed.

Morpeth Road, Bill.

The Lord Ravensworth made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing the Road leading from Long Horseley Bar, or Gate, on the Post Road near the Town of Morpeth, by or through Long Horseley, Weldon Bridge, and Wittingham, to the River Breamish, and from thence to Piercy's Cross, in the County of Northumberland," was committed.

Shrewsbury Roads, Bill

The Lord Sandys made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing the Roads from the Town of Shrewsbury, through Ellesmere, in the County of Salop, and Overton, in the County of Flint, to Wrexham, in the County of Denbigh," was committed.

Peter Auriol and David Pratviel, of London, Merchants, at the Bar, took the Oaths appointed, in order to then Naturalization.

The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee on the Bill, intituled, "An Act to open the Port of Great Yarmouth, for the Importation of Wool and Woollen Yarn from Ireland"

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Cholmondeley reported from the said Committee, "That they had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Thefts, &c preventing, and regulating Place of Entertainment, Bill

The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better preventing Thefts and Robberies; and for regulating Places of Publick Entertainment, and punishing Persons keeping disorderly Houses."

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Warwick reported from the said Committee, "That they had been in Consideration of the said Bill, and made a Progress therein"

Upon reading the Petition of John Petty Lord Viscount Fitzmaurice, Respondent to the Appeal of Francis Thomas Earl of Kerry, an Infant, by the Lord Newport his Guardian, setting forth, "That this Cause stands for hearing as this Day, but, for Want of some Papers which the Petitioner is advised are necessary to support his Case, he cannot safely proceed to the Hearing," and praying, "That the same may be put off to such other Day as to this House shall seem meet, the Agent for the Appellant consenting"

A Petition of James Earl of Kildare, was presented, and read, setting forth, "That the Hearing of his Appeal stands appointed for the Ninth Instant, but, as the Papers in the Cause are not yet come from Ireland, and the Application of the Respondents has been made without the least Intimation thereof to the Petitioners Agent, it is impracticable for him to be prepared by that Time," and praying, "That the Order for hearing may be discharged, or that this House will be pleased to adjourn the same to such further Time as their Lordships shall think proper"

A Petition of Mrs. Magdalen Campbell, was presented, and read, setting forth, "That, after the Court of Session in Scotland, by their Interlocutor of the 19th of June last, refused the Petitioner's Bill of Advocation, the Commissaries of Edinburgh, on the 21st of the same Month, pronounced a final Sentence, or Decree, grounded upon their Interlocutor of the 25th of January 1751, complained of in the Appeal, which the Petitioner did not know till she received a Copy of her Process, and is advised it is necessary to amend her Appeal, so as to take in the said Sentence, of the 21st of June, and to make Jean the Daughter of the Respondent a Party," and praying, "In regard it is not intended to delay the Hearing of the Cause, that she may be at Liberty to amend her said Appeal, as desired."

And thereupon the Agents on both Sides were called in, and heard at the Bar.

And being withdrawn:
