To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of Part of the settled Estate of Thomas Lord Viscount Kilmorey, in the Kingdom of Ireland, for raising Money, to discharge the Encumbrances affecting the same prior to his Marriage Settlement, and for laying out the Surplus thereof in the Purchase of other Lands and Hereditaments, to be settled to the Uses of the said Settlement," and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for making, widening, and keeping in Repair, several Roads, in the several Parishes of Lambeth, Newington, St George's Southwark, and Bermondsey, in the County of Surrey, and Lewisham, in the County of Kent," to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Corporation of Stamford against Peterborough Road Bill,

A Petition of the Mayor, Aldermen, Capital Bur gesses, and other Burgesses and Inhabitants, of the Town or Borough of Stamford, in the County of Lincoln, was presented, and read, praying, "In regard the Petitioners apprehend, that the Power given by the Bill depending in this House, relating to the Repair of the Road from Stilton, in the County of Huntingdon, to Peterborough, in the County of Northampton, will prejudice and injure them, and all other Travellers in Trading Towns lying North of Wandsford, that the Petitioners may be heard, by their Counsel, against the said Bill passing into a Law, or grant them such other Relief as to this House shall seem meet"

Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee to whom the said Bill stands committed, and that the Petitioners may be heard, as desired, before the said Committee; as may Counsel also be heard for the Bill, at the same Time, and that the Meeting of the said Committee, which was appointed for To-morrow, be put off to Thursday next.

A Petition of divers Inhabitants, Land Owners, and Occupiers of Lands, in the several Parishes of Wandsford, Sibson, Stivington, Warmington, Water Newton, Chesterton, Elton, Morbon, Folksworth, Stilton, Galdicot, Denton, Glatton, Sawtry, Great Gidding, Little Gidding, Upton, Alconbury, Wesson, Watton, Conington, Holme, Aldwater, and several other adjacent Towns and Vil lages, in the Counties of Huntingdon and Northampton, adjoining to or near the Great North Road leading from Alconbury White Post to Wandsford Bridge, in the aforesaid County of Huntingdon, was presented, and read; to the same Purpose.

Treasurer of Stilton and Wandsford Turnpikes, to attend, &c.

Ordered, That the Treasurer of the Saltree and Wondsford Turnpikes do permit the Agent for the Petitioners against the Bill, in relation to the Repair of the Road from Stilton to Peterborough aforesaid, to inspect the Books and Accompts relating to the said Turnpikes, and to take Copies, or any Parts thereof, and that Mr. Samuel Addenbrook the Treasurer of the said Turnpikes do attend this House, or any Committee thereof, with such Books and Papers.

After hearing Counsel in Part, in the Cause wherein Noah Webb Esquire is Appellant, and Robert St Lawrence and George Woods Gentlemen are Respondents.

Towns in the Hundred of Normancross, Petition referred to Committee Peterborough Road Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of several Inhabitants of several Parishes and Villages in the Hundred of Normancross, in the County of Huntingdon, setting forth, That they have been prevailed with to sign a Petition to this House, without knowing the true Contents thereof, and that, should the same contain any Thing against the Bill for repairing the Roads from Stilton, in the County of Huntingdon, to Peterborough, in the County of Northampton, the Petitioners beg Leave, on Behalf of themselves, to withdraw the said Petition, they being sincerely of Opinion that the said Road Bill will be of public Use and Advantage, and praying such Relief as to the House shall seem meet"

It is Ordered, That the said Petition be referred to the Committee to whom the said Bill stands committed.

Webb against St Lawrence and Woods.

After hearing Counsel, as well Yesterday as this Day, upon the Petition and Appeal of Noah Webb, of Dunsaghlin in the County of Meath in Ireland, Esquire, complaining of a Decree of the Court of Chancery in that Kingdom, of the 7th of December last, made in a Cause wherein Robert St Lawrence and George Woods Gentlemen were Plaintiffs, and the Appellant Desendant, and praying, "That the same might be reversed and set aside, and that the Injunction thereby granted might be dissolved, and the Plaintiffs Bill dismissed with Costs, or that this House would be pleased to make such other Order for the Appellant's Relief as to their Lordships in their great Wisdom should seem meet" As also upon the Answer of the said Robert St. Lawrence and George Woods put in to the said Appeal, and due Consideration had of what was offered on either Side in this Cause.

Judgement.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby, dismissed this House, and that the said Decree therein complained of be, and the same is hereby, affirmed.

Turnpike Roads Preservation, Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr Wilkinson and others.

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the more effectual Preservation of the Turnpike Roads in that Part of Great Britain called England, and for the Disposition of Penalties given by Acts of Parliament relating to the Highways in that Part of Great Britain called England, and for enforcing the Recovery thereof, and for the more effectual preventing of Mischiess occasioned by the Divers riding upon Carts, Drays, Cars, and Waggons, in the City of London, and within Ten Miles thereof," to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The said Bills were read the First Time, and that last mentioned was ordered to be printed.

Peterborough Road, Bill.

The Earl Fitzwilliam reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for enlarging the Term and Powers, and making more effectual, several Acts of Parliament, for repairing and amending the Highways leading from Rosston, in the County of Hertford, to Wandsford Bridge, in the County of Huntingdon, so far as relates to the amending of that Part of the Road as lies between a Place called The White Post on Alconbury Hill, in the County of Huntingdon, and Wandsford Bridge, in the same County, called The North Division, and that the Tolls taken at Saltree and Wandsford Toll Gates may, from and after a certain Time, be lowered, and for repairing the Road leading from Stilton, in the said County of Huntingdon, to Peterborough, in the County of Northampton," was committed "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, and likewise considered the several Petitions to them referred, and also heard Counsel, and examined Witnesses as well for as against the Bill, and had gone through the same, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for paving, cleansing, enlightening, and keeping in Repan, the Street called Pall Mall, as an Experiment towards the paving, cleansing, enlightening, and keeping in Repair, the Streets of the City and Liberty of Westminster, and Precincts of The Savoy, and that Part of the Dutchy of Lancaster which adjourneth thereto, and for preventing Damage being done to the Pavements of the Streets, within the Limits of the Weekly Bills of Mortality, by the Wheels of Carts, Cars or Drays," to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting to His Majesty the Sum of Six Hundred Thousand Pounds, out of the Sinking Fund, for the Service of the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty-one, and for Allowances to the Poor Widows of Commission and Warrant Officers of the Royal Navy, and for the further appropriating the Supplies granted this Session of Parliament, and for making forth Duplicates of Exchequer Bills, Lottery Tickets, Certificates, Orders of Loan, or Annuity Orders, payable at the Exchequer, in Lieu of such as shall be lost, burnt, or destroyed; and also for making forth new Orders of Loan, or Annuity Orders, in Lieu of such as shall become desired, obliterated, or otherwise encumbered with Assignments or Endorsements thereon."

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to continue several Laws therein mentioned, for preveuting Thest and Rapine on the Northern Borders of England for the more effectual punishing wicked and evil disposed Persons going armed in Disguise, and doing Injuries and Violences to the Persons and Properties of His Majesty's Subjects, and for the more speedy bringing the Ostenders to Justice, for continuing Two Caules, to prevent the cutting or breaking down the Bank of any River, or Sea Bank, and to prevent the malicious cutting of Hop-binds, for the more effectual Punishment of Persons malicroust, setting on Fire any Mine, Pit, or Delph of Coal, or Cannel Coal, and of Persons unlawfully hunting or taking any Red or Fallow Deer, in Forests or Chases, or beating or wounding the Keepers or other Officers in Forests, Chases, or Parks, for granting a Liberty to carry Sugars, of the Growth, Produce, or Manufacture, of any of His Majesty's Sugar Coronies in Americe, from the said Colonies directly into Foreign Parts, in Ships built in Great Britain, and navigated according to Law, for preventing the committing of Frauds by Bankrupts, for giving further Encouragement for the Importation of Naval Stores from the British Colonies in America, and for preventing Frauds and Abuses in the Admeasurement of Coals, in the City and Liberty of Westminster, and to make some further Provisions in relation to the signing of Certificates for the Discharge of Bankrupts"
