Foreign Sail Cloth, Duties Bill.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the more effectual securing the Duties now payable on Foreign-made Sail Cloth imported into this Kingdom; and for charging all Foreign-made Sails with a Duty; and for explaining a Doubt concerning Ships being obliged, at their first setting out to Sea, to be furnished with One complete Set of Sails made of British Sail Cloth."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Suspected Persons in Scotland, to appear at Edinburgh, Bill:

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for calling any suspected Person or Persons, whose Estates or principal Residence are in Scotland, to appear at Edinburgh, or where it shall be judged expedient, to find Bail for their good Behaviour."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Messages to H. C. that the Lords have agreed to the preceding Bills.

And Messages were severally ordered to be sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Spicer and Mr. Edwards:

To acquaint them, that the Lords have agreed to the said Bills, without any Amendment.

The Order of the Day being read, for the House to be in a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better regulating of Elections of Members to serve in Parliament, for such Cities and Towns, in that Part of Great Britain called England, as are Counties of themselves."

Ordered, That the House be put into a Committee thereupon, To-morrow.

E. of Cholmndeley and Sir W. Yonge, Leave for a Bill:

Upon reading the Petition of the Right Honourable George Earl of Cholmondeley and Sir William Yonge Baronet, Knight of the most Honourable Order of the Bath; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, to enable them to take, in Great Britain, the Oath of Office, for the Employment His Majesty has lately granted them in Ireland; and to qualify themselves for the Enjoyment thereof:

It is Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill, as desired.

Bill read.

Accordingly, the Earl of Warwick presented to the House a Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable George Earl of Cholmondeley and Sir William Yonge Baronet, Knight of the most Honourable Order of the Bath, to take, in Great Britain, the Oath of Office, as Vice Treafurer and Receiver General and Paymaster General of all His Majesty's Revenues in the Kingdom of Ireland; and to qualify themselves for the Enjoyment of the said Offices."

And the same was read the First Time.

Message from H. C. to return Manners's Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Henry Liddell and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting divers Lands and Tenements, in the County of Northumberland, late the Estate of John Manners Gentleman, deceased, in Trustees, to enable them to make an effectual Conveyance thereof to the Purchasers under a Decree of the Court of Chancery, for the Purposes therein mentioned;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.

The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better regulating of Elections of Members to serve in Parliament, for such Cities and Towns, in that Part of Great Britain called England, as are Counties of themselves."

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Warwick reported from the said Committee, "That they had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."
