The Lord Steward reported, "That the Lords with White Staves had (according to Order) presented to His Majesty their Lordships Address of Yesterday, for a State of the National Debt; and that His Majesty was pleased to say, He would give Orders that the same should be laid before the House accordingly."

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Carew and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable His Majesty to make Rules, Orders, and Regulations, more effectually to prevent the spreading of the Distemper which now rages amongst the Horned Cattle;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Gore and others:

and Vincent's Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Major General Onslow and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for empowering Francis Vincent Esquire to make a Jointure on any future Marriage, and Provision for his Daughters and Younger Sons;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same, with One Amendment, whereunto they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

The said Amendment, being read Thrice, was agreed to.

And a Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Allen and Mr. Spicer, to acquaint them therewith.

Horned Cattle, Distemper, Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta & 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, An Act to enable His Majesty to make Rules, Orders, and Regulations, more effectually to prevent the spreading of the Distemper which now rages amongst the Horned Cattle."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Accordingly the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee thereupon.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Warwick reported from the said Committee, "That they had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Visc. Grimston's Bill:

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for giving Power to the Sons of William Lord Viscount Grimston to make Jointures, on their respective Marriages, in Lieu of a defective Power contained in the Settlement made on the Marriage of Samuel Grimston Esquire, deceased."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

The Lord Bishop of Gloucester reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing John Daniel Dreyer," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

His Majesty, being seated on the Throne, with the accustomed Ceremonies; the Prince of Wales (in his Robes) sitting in his Place on His Majesty's Right Hand; the Lords being also in their Robes; the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod received His Majesty's Commands to let the Commons know, "It is His Majesty's Pleasure, that they attend Him immediately, in this House."

Who being come, with their Speaker; he, after a short Introduction in relation to the Bill concerning the Agreement with the Bank, delivered the same to the Clerk; who brought it to the Table; where the Clerk of the Crown read the Title of that and the other Bills ready for the Royal Assent, as follow; (videlicet,)

Market Harborough Road repairing, Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. George Wright and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for enlarging the Term and Powers granted by an Act, passed in the Twelfth Year of the Reign of His late Majesty King George the First, for repairing the Road from Market Harborough to Loughborough, in the County of Leicester;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Rebels in Scotland, speedy Trial of, Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Attorney General and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the more easy and speedy Trial of such Persons as have levied, or shall levy, War against His Majesty; and for the better ascertaining the Qualifications of Jurors, in Trials for High Treason, or Misprision of Treason, in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The Three last mentioned Bills were all read the First Time.

Report of Commissioners of Greenwich Hospital.

The House being informed, "That a Person from the Commissioners of Greenwich Hospital attended:"

He was called in; and delivered, at the Bar, pursuant to the Directions of an Act of Parliament, passed in the Eleventh Year of His present Majesty,

"The Report of the said Commissioners, of what Money has been received from the Derwentwater Estate, between 1st December 1744, and 30th November 1745; and of their Proceedings in carrying on the Building."

And then he was directed to withdraw.

And the Title thereof being read, by the Clerk:

And then he was directed to withdraw.
