Vialars & al. Nat. Bill.

The Lord Willoughby of Parham reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Daniel Vialars and Peter Thomegay," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which they found to be true; and also that they had considered the Petitions to them referred, and had gone through the Bill, with some Amendments."

Which, being read Twice by the Clerk, were agreed to by the House.

Coventrye to take the Name of Savage, Bill.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Thomas Coventrye Savage Esquire, formerly called Thomas Coventrye, and his Progeny and Descendants, to take and use the Surname and Arms of Savage, in Performance of, and Compliance with, the Will of Thomas Savage Esquire," stands committed, which is appointed to meet Tomorrow, be put off to Wednesday the 19th Day of January next.

Bockholt, Leave to be naturalized:

Upon reading the Petition of John Bockholt; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, to naturalize him:

It is Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill, as desired.

Bill read.

Accordingly, the Earl of Findlater presented to the House a Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing John Bockholt."

The said Bill was read the First Time.

Land Tax Bill.

The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for granting an Aid to His Majesty, by a Land Tax, to be raised in Great Britain, for the Service of the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-three."

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Warwick reported from the said Committee, "That they had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

E. Anglesey against Annesley:

The House being informed, "That a Person attended, in order to deliver in Pleadings and Proceedings, in the Cause wherein Richard Earl of Anglesey is Appellant, and Charles Annesley Esquire Respondent:"

Pleadings proved.

He was called in; and delivered, at the Bar, the said Pleadings and Proceedings; and attested upon Oath, "The same were true Copies, he having examined them with the Originals in the proper Office in Ireland."

And then he was directed to withdraw.

"Also, the Estimate of the Charge of His Majesty's Forces, in the Plantations, Minorca, and Gibraltar, for the Year 1743.

"Also, the Estimate of the Charge of Ten Regiments of Marines, for the Year 1743.

"Also, the Estimate of the Charge of His Majesty's Forces in Flanders, for the Year 1743.

"Also, the Estimate of the Charge of the Hessian Troops in the Pay of Great Britain, from the 26th Day of December 1742, to the 25th of December 1743, both inclusive.

"Also, the Accompt of the Charge of 5513 Horse, and 10,755 Foot, of the Troops of Hanover, in the Pay of Great Britain, from the 31st of August, to the 25th of December, being 117 Days.

Malt Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Francis Fane and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for continuing the Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder, and Perry, in that Part of Great Britain called England; and for granting to His Majesty certain Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder, and Perry, in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland; for the Service of the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-three;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The said Bill was read the First Time.

Gapes' Petition referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Gape Esquire, Eldest Son and Heir of William Gape, late of St. Albans, in the County of Hertford, Esquire, deceased, by Elizabeth his Wife, also deceased; and of Joseph Gape Esquire, Younger Son of the said William Gape by the said Elizabeth; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, to empower the Petitioners respectively to limit Jointures, and make Leases, of certain Estates, late of the said William Gape, in the Counties of Lincoln and Cambridge, in the Petition mentioned; and for other Purposes therein expressed:

It is Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be, and is hereby, referred to the Lord Chief Baron of the Court of Exchequer and Mr. Justice Burnett; who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, are to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands; and whether all Parties who may be concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.

Sir J. Bellew to amend his Appeal.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir John Bellew Baronet, an Infant, by his next Friend Dame Elinor Bellew, Widow and sole Executrix of Sir Edward Bellew, deceased; praying Leave to amend the Appeal of the said Sir Edward, revived in the Petitioner's Name, by making Patrick, Michael, William, and Francis Bellew, his Younger Brothers Parties thereto, by the said Dame Elinor, being willing to amend the Respondents Copy, no Answer being yet put in:

It is Ordered, That the Petitioner be at Liberty to amend the said Appeal, as desired, on the Condition abovementioned.

Gilbert Lord Barnard took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Trefusis' Petition referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of Elizabeth Trefusis Widow, William Metcalf Esquire, and Hickle Scarfe Gentleman; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, to enable the Petitioners, during the Minority of the Infant Son of Robert Trefusis Esquire, deceased, to lease upon Fines, for the Term of Ninety-nine Years, determinable on Three Lives, such of the Estates in the County of Cornwal, in the Petition mentioned, as have been usually leased, to answer the Trusts in the Marriage Settlement and Will of the said Robert Trefusis respectively, and for other Purposes in the Petition expressed:

It is Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be, and is hereby, referred to the Lord Chief Baron of the Court of Exchequer and Mr. Justice Burnett; with the usual Directions, according to the Standing Order.
